Ten Hill Place Hotel is one of Edinburgh’s 4* city centre hotels just 0.5 miles from Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station. Opened in 2006, this 4-star modern hotel is situated in a quiet Georgian Square, still very much within the reach of all the city’s main attractions- 5 minutes’ walk from the Royal Mile and Edinburgh’s main shopping area of Prince’s Street.

Ten Hill Place Hotel is owned by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and provides cutting-edge hospitality. Profits from the hotel are invested back into the College to support surgical training across the world.

Complimentary wi-fi is available throughout the hotel, allowing you to stay connected. Newly refurbished, the Hotel has a fresh new look and now has 129 bedrooms. Each well-equipped and spacious room has a sleek bathroom and a flat-screen TV. Beds have a choice of soft or firm mattresses and allergy-free duvets and pillows. Hairdryer, iron and hospitality tray are standard in all rooms.

Drinks & Dining is a restful area where you can enjoy a selection of wines from Corney & Barrow, local spirits and beers and cocktails made to order. Head Chef, Alan Dickson, recently won Regional Chef of the year and his food will surprise and delight you. A private dining area is available to book. The Snug can accommodate 14 guests for dining and 20 guests for a drinks reception.

A vibrant and contemporary space, offering an extensive list of wines supplied by Corney & Barrow, one of the longest established Wine Merchants in the UK. We stayed at this hotel and honestly can't fault it. The location is excellent as it is close to the centre but not too close so there is no night time noise. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was immaculate and clean. The breakfast was beautiful especially the haggis. We had a meal in the hotel one night and that was lovely too. The staff were exceptional and couldn't be more helpful. If we come back to Edinburgh we would definitely stay at this hotel again. Highly recommend.

We had the perfect stay. On arrival our room was ready early and we had been upgraded. Every member of staff we met were welcoming and helpful. The Hotel is clean and comfortable. They have everything you need for your stay. Tea/ coffee tray, decent hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Location is perfect for all tourist attractions. Perfect hotel and we had a perfect stay. We can’t thank the staff enough for making our stay so nice.

We had a great stay at this hotel July 2025. After a long flight and this being our first time in Scotland, we were absolutely delighted and surprised to hear we were the Epic guest of the day and upgraded to a beautiful spacious room! Being able to relax and set all our luggage down after traveling was so nice. We got some food from around the corner and were able to enjoy dinner with the lovely view from the room. Very comfortable room and bathroom. Just be careful the tub wall was very high. The location of the hotel was perfect, quieter side yet walking distance to all the sights. We had breakfast one morning, wish it opened a little earlier because we had an early morning tour and the breakfast was very good. The hotel staff were very nice as well. I recommend staying at this hotel.

Very well located for us as tourists in Edinburgh, just a few minutes walk to the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Waverley train station and so forth. Staff were pleasant and very helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable and functional.

Fab hotel, wrll placed to visit everything without being in the centre of town. Room ready and upgraded when we checked in. Great room on F5, quiet with fab views, lovely and warm with a very comfortable bed and a nice bathroom with large towels. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good choice at breakfast. We have really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book to stay here again.
