The location is within easy walking distance of major attractions. The rooms are clean and spacious (depending on the type you book and the tiling in the bathroom needs a refresh), but what truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional customer service. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and consistently went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Special thanks to Noor, Molly, and especially Blessing, who moved me to a temporary room after I was initially placed beside the elevator, and then to a more suitable room the following night. To make up for the inconvenience, I was offered breakfast and complimentary drinks, which I greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making my stay enjoyable!

My visit to voco Hotel Royal Terrace was great. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, which really made the experience even more enjoyable. A special mention has to go to the food — the fish and chips were absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Thank you to the chef. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing stay or a fantastic dining experience with excellent service and food.

My room was clean and comfortable although at times it did feel a bit cold. I visited suring the winter so an additional heater was provided for the room which did make a difference. The staff were friendly and welcoming when I arrived and I was checked in quickly. I was on the 3rd floor and did find the water pressure to be a bit low and it did take a while for the hot water to reach the room, although it was perfectly good enough to have a shower as long as I let the shower run a little while to warm up first. I'd happily stay here again.

One of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. The rooms were spacious, employees were very nice, and they give you some free treats when they clean your room. I really appreciated that aspect. It’s about a 15-20 min walk from downtown Edinburgh. Uber to and from the train station ran us about £8. Right next to Calton Hill which was great. Recommend watching the sunset from the top of the hill. Street was quiet. Beds were comfy, maybe a tiny bit springy but didn’t bother me. The TVs are a little outdated and blurry if that matters for you. Gym is small but did the job. It’s two rooms, one with a treadmill and cardio equipment, and one with an erg and yoga mats. Rooms also had a little nespresso machine with free pods. Bathroom was good size with counter space. Good quality hair dryer too. Highly recommend.

We stayed here as we wanted to go to a restaurant near by. The location for our purpose was great. Other than that, I can honestly say this was probably the worst service and hotel I have stayed in. We were given a room with a fan that went on and on all night. Rattling, and the sound can only be described as if you were sleeping on a sleeper train. Constant rattle. The male concierge staff looked as if I was asking him for one of his vital organs when we asked for our bags that were kept before check in. Staff never answered the reception at 11pm, I went down and a lady was sitting behind the desk on her phone. Clearly ignoring the phone. Check out was 12 - Someone knocked on our door at 11.45 and asked when we would be leaving? When leaving it wasn't warm or welcoming but seemed like the staff couldn't cope with 2 people checking out at one time. Such a fuss, so left our keys and went. Overall this was not a personable or relaxing getaway. The only saving grace was the amazing meal we had at Lyla along the street. If you are venturing to Edinburgh for that experience. Please avoid this hotel at all costs.
