I stayed in Yotel Edinburgh for 3 nights and highly recommend it. location is very good and easy walking distance to the centre less than 10 minutes, fab coffee shops nearby also. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. The beds and room is perfect for a short stay, really comfortable beds. there was 24 hour reception which was great as I was travelling solo. The 24 hour gym was a real added bonus. Bar food was good choice and reasonable price. Very clean and safe and loved the little extras like being able to check in on the machines at reception and the little shop also to purchase any snacks. I will be going back again. thank you to Marina and all the team there. Nicola

Good value for the price and location. Check-in machines are smooth, staff are friendly, rooms are spacious, and the lighting is great. The bar is reasonably priced, and the shared coffee machine is useful since there’s no kettle in the room. Downsides: motion sensors turning lights and AC off, glass bathroom setup, and housekeeping ignoring the “do not disturb” sign. Fine, but not flawless.

Really good hotel for the price. Location is good in a quiet enough area but easily walkable to most of the tourist sites. Staff were friendly, check in is easy. Also has a small gym you can use. The downsides to the hotel are as other people mentioned it’s only a curtain that separates the bathroom/bedroom and this was quite dirty, the towels being over the toilet also isn’t very hygienic. The lights in the room were quite annoying if we moved they’d just turn on. The ‘convenient shop’ is far from convenient with the crazy prices they were charging for stuff. Overall I’d still stay here again just a few small changes would be great to see.

Location was perfect for us and it’s close but not in centre of pubs/restaurants. Even though it’s on a main road it’s quiet. The rooms were nice and clean and they offered a voucher to use in the bar if you skipped the clean (can only use it on current stay before you check out!). On arrival you can check in on screens but the lady on reception didn’t even say hello or smile which I found rude. We booked through booking.com and the photos shown didn’t really show the bathroom situation clearly. It’s a separate toilet and shower with frosted glass and a separate sink in the room. The only lights in the bedroom are for the bathroom so if someone needed to go during the night the whole room would light up. The bed was comfy and had a tv. Our tv kept switching on throughout the night and it took two days to be rectified but this then caused the tv to not have full capability. When we went to reception to complain there was no apology just said there was a electricity fault in that room that was fixed but clearly wasn’t, they said they can switch our tv off for us which we said that wasn’t ideal. They didn’t give us any other option so went down the next morning to complain and they were a bit more apologetic and said they would get it fixed whilst we were out for the day. It was rectified but I just found the service a bit poor. The price was decent for the location but if I were to go back I would look to stay elsewhere.

Had no idea what this hotel chain was about when trip to Edinburgh was booked, this hotel was a Black Friday deal. I would not pay full price for this place! If this is the future of hotels then I want no part of it. 2 nights here and haven’t spoken to a single staff member. No one on reception greets you or acknowledges you as you’re coming and going. They’re too busy scrolling social media on their phones at their desks. Room was nice and tidy, clean, but it’s like handling a spacecraft cockpit. Too many lights, all too bright, no windows and literally no space. I’ve been in phone boxes bigger than that hotel room. Tv remote didn’t connect with the tv. I appreciate this is an ultra modern concept, and that human contact is now becoming more and more unnecessary, but won’t be using Yotel again!
