Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh – Leith Waterfront is located on the outskirts of the city, in the cool harbour neighbourhood of Leith, also known as The Shore. Edinburgh Waverley train station is within easy reach and Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is 25 minutes away. Catch trams into the city centre from opposite the hotel. On-site parking is 10 GBP per night and spaces are limited.

I had an amazing stay! The room and bed were large and incredibly comfortable, which made it really easy to relax and get a great night’s sleep. Agnes, the hotel manager, was so sweet during check-in and gave me a very warm welcome — she was extremely helpful and made me feel right at home , especially as it was my first time coming to Edinburgh. The breakfast was lovely and peaceful, and the hotel itself is in such a beautiful location. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I would happily come back again! 😊✨🏨 Thank you! Bearing in mind that this is a review of a budget hotel, the 5 stars are well deserved. It is clean and well maintained. The team are welcoming, helpful and very efficient. Allan is a credit to the hotel industry. The location is good with nearby shops and easy walks to local pubs and restaurants. The hotel is right next to the Royal Yacht Britannia and a tram stop with trans into Edinburgh every few minutes. The room was good and WiFi was good also.

Had a great stay at HIE, Leith with added bonus of being able to bring my dog. Particular thanks to Casey, who was a delight to interact with throughout the visit. I had previously called to check details of my stay and coincidentally, it was her who dealt with me then and also welcomed us at check in, where she gave my dog a lovely wee welcome pack. Pet friendly room was literally as near to the reception and exit as I could get, which made it perfect for taking him out walks . Breakfast supplies and staff were also first class. I’ll happily return here for future stays in the city as it’s both well priced and handy for car or public transport links.

The rooms are clean and modern, well maintained and with the necessary amnesties. Spatious and luminous. The service is great, breakfast is delicious and the hotel looks really nice and friendly. Staff are very welcoming and hospitable, especially Carmen, who is a 10/10 manager. Would definitely come here again. A 20min tram ride from city centre, but easily connected. R

The location is super accessible via tram and bus. I was able to take the tram directly from the airport to the hotel in under an hour. The location is great right only ocean terminal waterfront. The hotel could definitely use some touchups and Love I think the standard of cleanliness is not where it probably should be as well as the maintenance and upkeep. However, the staff is super friendly. I skipped breakfast most days and I’m glad that I did because most of the time the food wasn’t actually hot and it’s quite limited and mass produced. Overall, you get a great value for your money. But if you want luxury, you may want to choose a different IHG location. I would certainly consider returning here, but I would be very adamant about staying on the top floor for noise purposes and I have a location closer to the elevator like I did this time. It’s quite busy and popular so expect some wait time for the elevator, especially in the morning or at checkout time.
