The service here is impeccable. The rooms are what id expect for a holiday inn express, which is why I picked it. But the service deserves all the credit. Honestly, they were the 5 stars here. My shower had drain issues and since they couldn't get maintenance to it onnthe weekend, one of the front desk went to see if she could alleviate it, so I wouldn't have to worry about any issues. So good.

Situated in Leith, near the City Centre of Edinburgh. It has excellent transport links from the centre. The hotel does have a car park, which is chargeable. Upon entering the hotel, you are greeted by friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff, which continues for the rest of your stay. The rooms are clean, well presented with everything you require. Breakfast was free with our deal. This was a buffet style, but was also well presented. Items did run out, but quickly topped up by staff members. Busy at times, but tables are quickly available and cleared efficiently. The bar is open till late. The hotel has a luggage room, which is very useful if you have a late flight. On the whole, delighted with this hotel and will definitely book here, if we return to Edinburgh.

Old building and rooms. Lifts are worn out. There is no telephone in the room to call the reception. Breakfast time was super busy, and the items emptied out fast. They could've prepared better with how many guests they were expecting. There weren't a lot of options either, especially if you're vegetarian or vegan. They didn't provide bottled water, which is standard practice in most hotels. Staff was polite and friendly, but that is a trivial factor to consider when choosing a hotel. With the rate of standard room, I would expect better service and quality of the stay. Do not recommend staying here.

Disappointing Experience – Not What We Expected from Holiday Inn ( Had no option of 0 star so had to give 1 star) We’ve stayed at many Holiday Inn hotels in the past and have always appreciated the consistency and service. Unfortunately, our experience at the Holiday Inn Edinburgh did not meet those expectations. At around 10:30 PM, the power in our room went out. The staff couldn’t fix the issue, and we were moved to a significantly smaller room with poor arrangements and an uncomfortable split AC unit. When we raised our concerns with the manager, rather than handling the matter with professionalism, he became defensive. Due to a headache, I asked to continue the conversation outside the room, but this was later misrepresented. The next morning, we were informed that the manager had described us as rude and were told we could check out without being charged, as the hotel felt it couldn’t meet our expectations. This response was unexpected and disappointing. It’s reasonable to expect basic amenities to function and for hotel staff—especially management—to handle guest concerns with respect and professionalism. Based on this experience, I believe the management team here would benefit from better training in customer service and communication. We hope our feedback is taken seriously to help prevent similar situations for other guests.

Stayed here for one night .For a start the price was extortionate for a small room, although clean enough, but when it came to breakfast, it was an absolute disaster. Firstly we had a lengthy wait before being seated. Then they had ran out of butter and eggs. I had plated up my hot breakfast, then had a fifteen minute wait for clean cutlery, so by then breakfast frozen. My husband went to get a cup of coffee -no mugs, so he left in disgust. This is absolutely shameful for a hotel chain of this standing, made even worse by the apathetic attitude of the staff with no apology. Most of the writing staff moving in slow motion and with no urgency to alleviate the situation. I would advise anyone to avoid this hotel like the plague
