Plan your visit to one of London’s finest food markets. Located right in the heart of London, Borough Market is one of the best known produce and street food markets around. If your’e looking for somewhere to shop in London you’ll find the market open six days a week, where  the food market’s atmospheric halls and passageways are a pleasure to explore.

At Borough Market, we don’t just sell good food and drink, we celebrate it. We enjoy how it tastes and the way it makes us feel, but we also appreciate its ability to connect us to the people who produced it and the places it was made.

If all you come with is an appetite, you’ll be able to sate it in a thousand ways. But if you care about what you eat and where it comes from, our traders can feed your curiosity too. Here, in this historic setting, you’ll find an incredible range of food from all over Britain and the rest of the world – and every item has a story to tell.

Our story began 1,000 years ago, when a market took shape at the foot of London Bridge. Since 1756, we’ve been in our current location, run by a charitable trust on behalf of the community. Today, our mission is to show that food can be made and sold in ways that are better for people, for the planet and for the sheer pleasure of eating.

Borough Market’s rich heritage is part and parcel of its appeal, but our focus is very much on the here and now. The Market, which is run by a charitable trust for the benefit of our community, has never stopped evolving. A few decades ago, it was a wholesale market serving the greengrocers of south London; now it acts as a beacon for sustainable food production, short supply chains and social connection, drawing visitors from far and wide.

This was an amazing market. Had stalls for vendors selling everything from spices to baked goods. The food vendors were amazing as well every thing from tacos to Indian food. Great place to grab a well made balanced meal. But get there early it gets packed fast especially towards lunch time.

I tried the market’s most popular strawberry with chocolate sauce and a seafood rice dish. While it was a bit pricey, and there was no proper place to sit and eat in the market, it still felt like a fun part of the trip.

This was my first time at Borough Market and I have to say this place is a total vibe. I absolutely loved it! There were so many food vendors. I walked around and ate so much. I got the shrimp and risotto at Bomba Paella. The line was insane but worth the wait. I ate the famous crème brûlée donut from Bread Ahead. I had fresh juice from Turnips Distributing Ltd. I drank their Sea Mosster. It was amazing! Finally I had the iced vanilla matcha from Jenki. Hands down one of the best match I’ve ever had. It wasn’t bitter or too sweet. It was perfect! I will definitely be back to Borough Market on my next visit to London.

I loved our visit with the kiddies. I was nice to see all the little independent businesses. Lots of coffee shops, bakery stalls. Fruits, honey and cheese stalls. Of course it was very busy and hard to go round with pram due to some cobble areas and cars going round but overall we managed. Everyone had card machines which made life easy. Wish there was more areas to sit. Some decent halal options. And yes yes the viral £8.50 strawberries are worth the hype.. Que up for this it goes very fast. I wouldn't personally go again as it was so crazy packed out but loved my visit x

Boroughs mkt is like most farmers market, fresh produce and cooked food. On a good day with no rain, it’s attractive, otherwise; puddles, wet and smelly. You got to watch every step. The cooked food stalls, too many to choose. Be prepared to que…..lacking tables or benches to eat the delicious food which becomes cold and wet if rain. No designated standup room to eat…other than next to the rubbish bins that can add to the smell. And birds scavenging everywhere. Very unappetising. A shout out to JOLI that sells the most authentic slow cooked Malaysian beef rendang with rice and pickles(£13). Quite a good feed for dinner, but better to share by 2, so you get to try other stuffs. The strawberry fondue is a must try…..fresh strawberries drowned in chocolate drizzle. Finally, the paella, would have been so delicious if there was proper table and chairs to enjoy. Alas… every mouthful is a balancing act. Bring some wet wipes if you are likely to make a mess. Oh, if you like apple crumble, you shd try it but it’s too sweet for me….so I opted for the dark chocolate which doesn’t come with custard. You can customise your pie.
