Plan your visit to one of London’s finest food markets. Located right in the heart of London, Borough Market is one of the best known produce and street food markets around. If your’e looking for somewhere to shop in London you’ll find the market open six days a week, where  the food market’s atmospheric halls and passageways are a pleasure to explore.

At Borough Market, we don’t just sell good food and drink, we celebrate it. We enjoy how it tastes and the way it makes us feel, but we also appreciate its ability to connect us to the people who produced it and the places it was made.

If all you come with is an appetite, you’ll be able to sate it in a thousand ways. But if you care about what you eat and where it comes from, our traders can feed your curiosity too. Here, in this historic setting, you’ll find an incredible range of food from all over Britain and the rest of the world – and every item has a story to tell.

Our story began 1,000 years ago, when a market took shape at the foot of London Bridge. Since 1756, we’ve been in our current location, run by a charitable trust on behalf of the community. Today, our mission is to show that food can be made and sold in ways that are better for people, for the planet and for the sheer pleasure of eating.

Borough Market’s rich heritage is part and parcel of its appeal, but our focus is very much on the here and now. The Market, which is run by a charitable trust for the benefit of our community, has never stopped evolving. A few decades ago, it was a wholesale market serving the greengrocers of south London; now it acts as a beacon for sustainable food production, short supply chains and social connection, drawing visitors from far and wide.

Just a brilliant place to visit. The varieties of food choices to both buy and eat was incredible. Another must visit if you are a foodie. Lots of security around but you still need to be careful of your valuables! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

First time visit on a Saturday morning. Seems it was the best time to go by y reading some of the other reviews. Absolutely everything catered for either for something to eat or to take home. Bakeries, cheese and meat stalls, fruit and veg stands, all sorts. So much to choose from that we had to walk round it twice before deciding what to have. We sat outside by the church and would definitely visit again.

Borough Market is an absolute gem in the heart of London! The atmosphere is bustling and vibrant, making it a perfect spot for food lovers. The variety of stalls offers everything from fresh produce and artisanal cheeses to delectable street food. I particularly enjoyed the gourmet pastries and the selection of international cuisines available. Each visit feels like a culinary adventure! The vendors are passionate and knowledgeable, making it easy to strike up a conversation and learn more about their offerings. Additionally, the market's location near London Bridge makes it easily accessible. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Borough Market is a must-see destination that captures the essence of London’s food culture. Can't wait to go back.

Borough Market is exactly what you’d expect it to be: famous, busy, and very touristy, especially over the weekend. The moment you step in, you’re met with crowds, noise, and long queues snaking around many of the popular stalls. It’s lively, energetic, and at times overwhelming. Food-wise, there’s no shortage of choice. From fish and chips to paella, burgers, and various street food options, you’ll find plenty of familiar crowd-pleasers. Most of it is decent enough as street eats, but let’s be honest, many items are overpriced for what you’re actually getting. You’re paying for the location, the hype, and the experience as much as the food itself. That said, if you’re willing to look around and manage expectations, you can still find some enjoyable bites. The chocolate-covered strawberries, while undeniably pricey, were genuinely delicious and probably one of the more satisfying treats we had. Because it gets so crowded, it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings. Space is tight, queues overlap, and it’s easy to get jostled while moving through the market. Overall, Borough Market is worth visiting at least once for the atmosphere and variety. Just go in knowing it’s busy, not cheap, and more about the experience than exceptional value or standout food.

I prefer this over Camden. Although overpriced in my opinion, there are much more quality foods here. Also cute shops. Everything I ate was amazing. Yet, expensive. I got the crème brulle donut- 8/10, it wasn’t warm and the sugar on top wasn’t crunchy. The lasagne from the pasta stall- 8/10, really amazing pasta, super warm and good quality, really recommend especially on cold days, it really warmed me up! The Thai meat mix has also vegan meat made from seitan and also real meat, very good 6.5/10 but I wouldn’t get it again. The Mac and cheese mix 7/10, really warms you too. The black pig sandwich 8.5/10, amazing , the live goes quickly too. The market offers complementary taste bites almost from every stall so you already get to eat as you go and it’s really nice. Also don’t come in the weekend there are too many people, I came on a weekday.
