Plan your visit to one of London’s finest food markets. Located right in the heart of London, Borough Market is one of the best known produce and street food markets around. If your’e looking for somewhere to shop in London you’ll find the market open six days a week, where  the food market’s atmospheric halls and passageways are a pleasure to explore.

At Borough Market, we don’t just sell good food and drink, we celebrate it. We enjoy how it tastes and the way it makes us feel, but we also appreciate its ability to connect us to the people who produced it and the places it was made.

If all you come with is an appetite, you’ll be able to sate it in a thousand ways. But if you care about what you eat and where it comes from, our traders can feed your curiosity too. Here, in this historic setting, you’ll find an incredible range of food from all over Britain and the rest of the world – and every item has a story to tell.

Our story began 1,000 years ago, when a market took shape at the foot of London Bridge. Since 1756, we’ve been in our current location, run by a charitable trust on behalf of the community. Today, our mission is to show that food can be made and sold in ways that are better for people, for the planet and for the sheer pleasure of eating.

Borough Market’s rich heritage is part and parcel of its appeal, but our focus is very much on the here and now. The Market, which is run by a charitable trust for the benefit of our community, has never stopped evolving. A few decades ago, it was a wholesale market serving the greengrocers of south London; now it acts as a beacon for sustainable food production, short supply chains and social connection, drawing visitors from far and wide.

One of the highlights of my last trip was Borough Market. Amazing food. Beautiful produce. The scents were exhilarating. Cheeses, seafood, meats, breads, spices, olives, and so much more. My food tour there and the surrounding area was so good that I came back for more. If you love food, this market is a definite pin 📍 to go visit.

It is an absolute must visit in London, The atmosphere is buzzing, and the food options are incredible. We tried everything from fresh oysters to delicious street food, and it was all amazing. The quality of the produce is top-notch, and it's a great place to just wander around and soak up the sights and smells. Perfect for foodies and anyone looking for a fun, tasty experience.

This was my first time at Borough Market and I have to say this place is a total vibe. I absolutely loved it! There were so many food vendors. I walked around and ate so much. I got the shrimp and risotto at Bomba Paella. The line was insane but worth the wait. I ate the famous crème brûlée donut from Bread Ahead. I had fresh juice from Turnips Distributing Ltd. I drank their Sea Mosster. It was amazing! Finally I had the iced vanilla matcha from Jenki. Hands down one of the best match I’ve ever had. It wasn’t bitter or too sweet. It was perfect! I will definitely be back to Borough Market on my next visit to London.

Fun place to visit and for those with Anxiety or highly sensitive to big pushy crowds- a bit rough. California doesn’t have anything like it so I still recommend going and seeing all there is in one place. I did find a gluten free baker and his blueberry banana bread was delicious and the lemon cake - amazing! Wish it was easier to get to and I would be there again!!!

Yes it’s touristy and expensive but so much fun! Only had room for original sausage roll from Ginger Pig and the regular paella from the only stall that sells paella. Both were good but the sausage roll was a standout. Wish I had more room for the popular toast or but alas was too full. Get there before 11am (10:30 is the sweet spot - vendors done setting up and crowds not too crazy yet.)
