Plan your visit to one of London’s finest food markets. Located right in the heart of London, Borough Market is one of the best known produce and street food markets around. If your’e looking for somewhere to shop in London you’ll find the market open six days a week, where  the food market’s atmospheric halls and passageways are a pleasure to explore.

At Borough Market, we don’t just sell good food and drink, we celebrate it. We enjoy how it tastes and the way it makes us feel, but we also appreciate its ability to connect us to the people who produced it and the places it was made.

If all you come with is an appetite, you’ll be able to sate it in a thousand ways. But if you care about what you eat and where it comes from, our traders can feed your curiosity too. Here, in this historic setting, you’ll find an incredible range of food from all over Britain and the rest of the world – and every item has a story to tell.

Our story began 1,000 years ago, when a market took shape at the foot of London Bridge. Since 1756, we’ve been in our current location, run by a charitable trust on behalf of the community. Today, our mission is to show that food can be made and sold in ways that are better for people, for the planet and for the sheer pleasure of eating.

Borough Market’s rich heritage is part and parcel of its appeal, but our focus is very much on the here and now. The Market, which is run by a charitable trust for the benefit of our community, has never stopped evolving. A few decades ago, it was a wholesale market serving the greengrocers of south London; now it acts as a beacon for sustainable food production, short supply chains and social connection, drawing visitors from far and wide.

So much to see and eat!! Foodie heaven and while there were massive crowds when I went, all the vendors were kind and patient with questions. Most gave samples. It was a fantastic place to spend time and for people watching. Came away with such delicious food. Look forward to going back.

Fabulous market for foodies. We were able to visit at Christmas and really enjoyed all the festive touches throughout all the market areas. So nice to see prepared foods alongside masterfully sourced ingredients. Great place to try British legends like meat pies, sausage rolls, mince pies, and Christmas pudding. So fun to roam around and take in the aromas. Don't eat before you come because you will be tempted by everything! Loved the Market shop for the cutest of Christmas totes. Looking forward to visiting again!

Perhaps the best market I’ve ever been to. Many vendors with unique iconic dishes. The shops are really well decorated, you can see how much has been invested into the market vibe. The cheese, charcuterie, seafood stalls are so rich, I as a United States resident can only dream of having back home.

Wow, just had to drop a quick note about my Borough Market haul – the scotch eggs and the crème brûlée doughnuts totally stole the show. First up, the scotch egg from Scotchtails. I went for the classic pork‑and‑sage version, and honestly, it was a perfect bite. The breadcrumb coating was golden and crunchy, and when I cracked into that soft‑boiled yolk… pure heaven. The seasoning was spot on – not too salty, just enough herbs to keep it interesting. It held me over for a good few hours, which is saying a lot given how busy the market gets. Then I stumbled over to Bread Ahead for the crème brûlée doughnut. I’m usually not a fan of “fancy” pastries, but this thing changed my mind. The dough was light and fluffy, and that caramelised sugar crust? It cracked like a proper brûlée and gave a satisfying crunch. Inside, the vanilla custard was silky and not overly sweet – exactly the kind of finish I needed after all that savory goodness. If you’re planning a trip, make sure you grab both. The queues are worth it, and the flavors are the kind of comfort you don’t expect from a market stall. Cheers to good food and even better company!

I prefer this over Camden. Although overpriced in my opinion, there are much more quality foods here. Also cute shops. Everything I ate was amazing. Yet, expensive. I got the crème brulle donut- 8/10, it wasn’t warm and the sugar on top wasn’t crunchy. The lasagne from the pasta stall- 8/10, really amazing pasta, super warm and good quality, really recommend especially on cold days, it really warmed me up! The Thai meat mix has also vegan meat made from seitan and also real meat, very good 6.5/10 but I wouldn’t get it again. The Mac and cheese mix 7/10, really warms you too. The black pig sandwich 8.5/10, amazing , the live goes quickly too. The market offers complementary taste bites almost from every stall so you already get to eat as you go and it’s really nice. Also don’t come in the weekend there are too many people, I came on a weekday.
