Daiu Cardiff Bay

I visited here last night after a glowing recommendation from my daughter who had previously visited. I had a wonderful time with my wife and children. The concept is so much fun and quite unique, especially for Cardiff. We all loved choosing and cooking our own Korean styled meats, fish and veg in the hot broth bowls and on the individual grill plates. The venue is exceptionally clean, food was super fresh and the staff were available when needed but not so intrusive as to interrupt your meal. The decor and ambience were perfectly suited to the whole experience being delivered. The welcoming buffet nature of DaiU means no one should leave with an empty stomach, or with the feeling that you have eaten more than the place would like you to - we all know how that feels! In fact my son took some extra ice cream home and was a happy lad after 7 visits to the meat counter. Absolutely unreal. This was genuinely one of the best dining experiences of my life. The atmosphere alone is stunning. The hotpot & BBQ food was incredible, super fresh, loads of choice, amazing quality, and so much fun cooking everything at the table. Every single thing i tried was delicious. Im completely obsessed and will be recommending this place to everyone. 10/10 😍🫶🏻

Excellent value for money, we paid £36.75pp (I believe this includes arriving 5% service charge) for unlimited Hot Pot and Korean Bbq but also includes buffet style oriental food and a small section of desserts which mainly includes ice cream or fruit, drinks are paid separately which you can order via QR code on the table or you can go up to the bar. Food - It was delicious, definitely tasted fresh including the vegetables and meat. Chicken, beef and lamb is halal. Service - Staff were really helpful, and provided excellent customer service. Coming over from time to time to change the sheets on the grill or add water in your hot pot. Overall would definitely recommend this place, the food and quality is excellent and definitely good value for money, and its halal which is super hard to find unless you live in London.

DaiU Cardiff Bay is a great place to enjoy barbeque and Chinese hot pot in a lively and modern setting. The food is fresh, full of flavour, and fun to cook at the table, making the experience enjoyable and interactive. There is a good variety of meats, vegetables, and broths to choose from, catering to different tastes. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Overall, it’s a great spot for a tasty and social meal at Cardiff Bay.

Limited choice of food. Very bland and oily stock pot, made everything you boil in it bland yet immediately overfilling. Tinned peaches on the bottom of the large bowl and the cheapest ice-cream, that was refrozen, for dessert, not to mention a handful of mouldy tomatoes in a fruit bowl. The toilets were absolutely filthy and no soap to be found, bud for an eatery, were you cook your own food. The seating arrangements is very crowded, industrial style, suppose to maximise on profits. Good concept, bad execution. Same bad management as the previous business on the premises. We popped next door to a chocolate place, for a cuppa and dessert, to wash down the grease taste in our mouths, seen quite few others doing the same. I do not recommend. The good comments are probably based on a novelty value, by those who have never experienced this style of eatery as it should be.
