Our family stay at Hotel du Vin was truly exceptional. It started from smooth and welcoming check in from Jennifer. We stayed in a junior suite with en suite bathroom. The room was spotless and comfortable thanks to an amazing housekeeping team. We were also welcomed with a sweet personalized note. When we went to a bar, we were treated with delicious cocktails made by Kaya who also prepared an amazing strawberry mocktail to our 10 years old son. Dinner at bistro was a truly classic French experience, with perfect seasoning, Bistro room ambience and exceptional service attention from Carrie-Anne. At breakfast, the selection of food was very good as well. Amazing stay, thank you so much for everything!

Wow what a tremendous hotel which is situated in a fantastic location. The hotel itself is a truly magical building, the service from check in, to check out was marvellous. Special mention to Sam, who is a true asset to the brand, he greeted us with a friendly smile and was very hospitable. We only had breakfast during our stay however the bistro team were welcoming and provided smooth friendly service. It is also those behind the scenes who also make this hotel what it is, amazing house keeping and attention to detail and beautifully cooked eggs from the chef. What a wonderful stay.

We had a very nice afternoon tea here. Place was quiet and the service attentive. A bit too quiet, so felt lacking atmosphere. It was a cold February monday afternoon ! Food was good and well presented. Better than many places I have tried.

Brilliant Burns Night at Hotel du Vin Just attended the Burns Night at Hotel du Vin Edinburgh and it was fantastic. Great atmosphere, delicious food, perfectly paired whisky, and a lively haggis address that set the tone for the night. Staff were warm, attentive, and made the whole evening feel special. A memorable celebration — I’d happily come back next year.

*** BEWARE OF THE FOOD POISONING *** Wife and I stayed at the Hotel du Vin with our infant daughter during the first week of March. It was our first trip to Edinburgh. Rooms were good and the staff was mostly helpful. Other than the building being a bit of a labyrynth, we did enjoy the accommodations. The last night, however, we decided to dine at the Bistro. I DO NOT recommend that anyone eat there. We sat down to an early dinner (6PM) and ordered an array of starters, including the scallops and beef tartare. Mains were passable, despite the high price tag...but the creme brulee desert was terrible. Clearly microwaved and made earlier that day. After dinner, I woke up in the middle of the night with violent nausea, followed by diarrhea. It's been 72hrs and the symptoms have not abaited. It's resulted in physical pain and lost time with relatives while we stay in London. Rest of our meals in Edinburgh were relatively benign, so Im betting it's between the shellfish, raw beef, or creme brulee massacre that did me in. My advice is to avoid the bistro at all costs.
