The Best Western Kings Manor Hotel is one of the most idyllic places to stay in Edinburgh, enjoying a quiet location in the capital cities eastern suburbs. Despite this calm and peaceful setting, you’ll still have easy access to Edinburgh’s many attractions, shops, bars and restaurants, which are just 20 minutes away.

The hotel itself is a delightful 160-year-old building, boasting a rich history as it was once used as a convent. The Best Western Kings Manor Hotel Edinburgh places you only half a mile away from Musselburgh picturesque harbour and the golden sands of Portobello Beach, whilst Edinburgh Castle is just a 20 minute drive from the hotel.

The Scottish National Gallery is also just 20 minutes away and stands as a neo-classical building with one of the world’s greatest collections of fine art, truly the best way to spend a rainy day. On a finer day, head to the Royal Botanic Gardens and enjoy the lavish landscape and greenhouses.

With the second largest hotel-based leisure club in the city, there’s more than enough room for relaxation at the Best Western Kings Manor Hotel in Edinburgh. This three-star spot has 100 en suite bedrooms, including twin/double rooms, club rooms and rooms with wheelchair access. When it comes to dining, the Best Western comes out on top yet again thanks to its superb cuisine.

Myself and my best friend stayed for two nights here. The staff are really friendly. The facilities are fantastic, we used the swimming pool, jacuzzi and stream room. The food at the hotel was really nice. The beds are really comfortable, I had a great night sleep. This hotel should be a 4 star hotel! Thank you to all the staff for making my first holiday to Scotland amazing.

My family has stayed here for years due to friendship with the old owners, the fantastic location and the large accessible rooms. I will say the new dining menu has improved and all tasted lovely! However, the paid parking situation is horrendous and lack of notification inside the hotel about it will cause hefty fines. Dining you get 3 hours max free parking which will prevent me from returning as used to love dining and then relaxing with a drink in the bar with visiting family and friends.

Great location, about 5 miles east of Edinburgh city centre. We accessed the centre by bus, which stops right outside the hotel. It was a 25 minute walk from the hotel to Portobello beach which was fantastic. Also enjoyed fab meal at an Indian restaurant just off Portobello High Street, along with drinks at place on the promenade. Didn't get chance to use the swimming pool in the hotel during our stay but pool looked good and changing area was clean when we went to look. Self service breakfast with good choice, staff tried to stay on top of restocking items but some things sparce when this was delayed. Coffee good from machines. Didn't dine in restaurant. Room was really large, warm, dark and quiet overnight. Would stay again as the location is really good, just some bits of room and hotel would benefit from touching up. The staff were all really polite and helpful. Parking is available on site, with loads of spaces for an additional daily fee. We also stayed with our small dog; we made sure a dog friendly room was available by contacting the hotel directly.

Listen. You know what to expect when booking a budget hotel. In that regard, they go above and beyond and have a ton of amenities. The service was top notch. However. The rooms. Woah. Some of the worst I've ever stayed in. Toilet that took forever to flush. Non draining sink. Broken mirror. Black mold (?) In the shower. The room we were appointed didn't have a working heater but was large. The glass table covers aren't attached in anyway so they move WAY too easy. The beds are ok. Quiet which was nice. Bright green light that illuminates the whole entry area making sleep hard.

Worse experience with Best Western. Was given corner rooms with staircases even with luggages. Bathtub was slippery and fall to hit my back. Car park was a trap cost me £168 for 10 minutes 42 seconds off loading to front desk for check-in. Location is off city center. Not worth it overall.
