Despite this calm and peaceful setting, you’ll still have easy access to Edinburgh’s many attractions, shops, bars and restaurants, which are just 20 minutes away.

I cannot express how helpfull and compassionate the hotel staff were to deal with a highly sensitive issue. Safe to say Syed and James receive my utmost thanks for their kindness and professionalism. They were both amazing. In terms of my room it was clean, well appointed, convenient for my needs and worked really well. Top notch. Breakfast was buffet style with a fantastic choice of continental and more traditional bacon, eggs and sausage. The haggis also went down well although I didn't set it on fire and couldn't remember the ode to the Haggis. Maybe next time. Thanks again to the fantastic staff. You are amazing

It's a lovely hotel - beautifully built and well-maintained! A little on the outskirts of Edinburgh - in a way that's nice because it's not very crowded and noisy! Plus, the city center is decently connected by several buses - the bus stop is just in front of the hotel. The facilities were quite good and the reception staff were extremely polite and helpful - a huge thanks to them for making our stay pleasant. The complimentary breakfast (included in our rate) was also perfect - you had quite a number of options to choose from! It would be even better though if the variety could change a little on a daily/weekly basis. Only blemish was our interaction with the staff manning the sauna/swimming pool. She quite rudely denied entry to my mom and me when we enquired if we could go inside to have look. If this was a hotel policy she could have explained to us without being rude, more so, when she was talking to other guests quite nicely. Don't know what triggered her, but barring this incident, we had an excellent experience.

Like alot of Best Westerns, the decor is old and everything just looks out dated. When I arrived at Reception I was an hour and a half early, was told by the Asian lady on reception that my room was ready but I would have to wait in my vehicle until the check in time 🤦‍♂️ As you can see from the photo of my room it was tiny, red hot and just looked & smelt old. The leisure facilities were okay apart from the jacuzzi was out of order and they have a swimming lane system where you have to sign your name on a whiteboard to use the lanes, don't forget to put your name on the board because the old regulars love to catch you out and have a go if you haven't signed for it (Karens). This is another well over priced hotel that's asking for more than it deserves, don't be fooled by the photos taken on the first day of opening.

Room 403 was full of problems not worth the money paid for. The main bed in the room had bedsheets with a massive urine stain in the bedsheet base. The topper underneath had blood stains on it. This was a big shock to see. The room hardly had any cold water. Not from the sink or the bath taps. Not ideal when you have been on a journey that was six hours long in a hot and sweaty car and when you arrive you want to have a shower. Cold water coming out very little. Only hot water coming out extremely dangerous easy to get burnt (and we did. The duty manager was called to sort this out even after he left the water still came out hot. When I did shower the air vent didn’t work. Couldn’t even see yourself wash with all the hot steam in the air. No marks on the shower board to show hot or cold or even to turn off. Members of my group decided not to shower or wash because of it. The room wasn't cheap for the 2 nts (£450) Seeing the carpet worn out and marked this doesn't reflect on the price for what you're paying for the room. Next day up early had plans left the notice for the maid to change the beds and empty the bin. When we came back that evening our beds hadn't been changed, and the bin was still full and not emptied. We all needed a shower however you guessed it NO COLD WATER. Called manager and asked why this room was full of issues. His answer was, I have no idea the room was like this. Was able to be moved to another room 100% better. Should have had this in the first place. Was offered a free breakfast by this time we couldn’t wait to get out of there. The hotel let us all down the experience of our stay in Edinburgh.
