The Best Western Kings Manor Hotel is one of the most idyllic places to stay in Edinburgh, enjoying a quiet location in the capital cities eastern suburbs. Despite this calm and peaceful setting, you’ll still have easy access to Edinburgh’s many attractions, shops, bars and restaurants, which are just 20 minutes away.

The hotel itself is a delightful 160-year-old building, boasting a rich history as it was once used as a convent. The Best Western Kings Manor Hotel Edinburgh places you only half a mile away from Musselburgh picturesque harbour and the golden sands of Portobello Beach, whilst Edinburgh Castle is just a 20 minute drive from the hotel.

The Scottish National Gallery is also just 20 minutes away and stands as a neo-classical building with one of the world’s greatest collections of fine art, truly the best way to spend a rainy day. On a finer day, head to the Royal Botanic Gardens and enjoy the lavish landscape and greenhouses.

With the second largest hotel-based leisure club in the city, there’s more than enough room for relaxation at the Best Western Kings Manor Hotel in Edinburgh. This three-star spot has 100 en suite bedrooms, including twin/double rooms, club rooms and rooms with wheelchair access. When it comes to dining, the Best Western comes out on top yet again thanks to its superb cuisine.

Whether you’re looking to enjoy a particularly special evening meal, an informal bite or a leisurely lunch, you’ll be well catered for. Choose either the contemporary (and recently refurbished) Lauders Restaurant for an impressive a la carte Menu, the Options Bistro for popular classics/inventive modern dishes in a relaxed setting, or Bar Zest for a drinks and moreish bar snacks.

What’s more, children under 12 stay for free when visiting with 2 adults – proving the cherry on top of the cake.

Myself and my best friend stayed for two nights here. The staff are really friendly. The facilities are fantastic, we used the swimming pool, jacuzzi and stream room. The food at the hotel was really nice. The beds are really comfortable, I had a great night sleep. This hotel should be a 4 star hotel! Thank you to all the staff for making my first holiday to Scotland amazing.

From the moment I arrived, the staff were extremely helpful and attentive, always going the extra mile to make my stay the best possible experience. The rooms were immaculate and, in my opinion, very competitively priced compared to many other options in Edinburgh. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Great location, about 5 miles east of Edinburgh city centre. We accessed the centre by bus, which stops right outside the hotel. It was a 25 minute walk from the hotel to Portobello beach which was fantastic. Also enjoyed fab meal at an Indian restaurant just off Portobello High Street, along with drinks at place on the promenade. Didn't get chance to use the swimming pool in the hotel during our stay but pool looked good and changing area was clean when we went to look. Self service breakfast with good choice, staff tried to stay on top of restocking items but some things sparce when this was delayed. Coffee good from machines. Didn't dine in restaurant. Room was really large, warm, dark and quiet overnight. Would stay again as the location is really good, just some bits of room and hotel would benefit from touching up. The staff were all really polite and helpful. Parking is available on site, with loads of spaces for an additional daily fee. We also stayed with our small dog; we made sure a dog friendly room was available by contacting the hotel directly.

This hotel is very tired and the room I had was very small. I booked a standard single as opposed to the small single. OMG it was very small. The floor was very uneven, the shower hose spewed water out when turned on coating the bathroom floor with water, the light/shaver socket above the sink didn't work and I was right opposite a lift. I had to take my room card back 3 times in 4.5 hours to get it redone. I was only there 1 night thankfully as the room was a balmy 23.5C all night!!!! My friend and I had fish and chips in the Bistro - never again. The fish was so oily the batter was inedible. The staff however were really good. I can't fault the cleanliness or how polite and pleasant the staff were. Breakfast was good - the hot foods were indeed hot and good quality.

Not a great experience staying in this hotel, stayed in room 355 and felt like I was in an episode of Foyles war with the dated decor, solid wooden headboard and 50s style lounge chairs and table. The shower in the room had less power than Stephen Hawkins chair with a dead battery and just trickled down the wall. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable aswell and had an awful nights sleep. For £160 a night i expected more and I've had more comfortable nights sleep and better facilities in hostels in the Australian outback. Go premier inn instead, not missing much here.
