Lovely hotel. Although a little confusing to understand exactly what the name is currently. Rooms are very spacious and clean however maintenance could be a little bit better. The renovated rooms that are excellent and of a high standard including loads of space coffee machine and plenty of storage including a safe for personal belongings. Bathrooms are also excellent and appear to include both a bath and a shower for convenience. The hotel also has a free gym and for convenience swimming, pool, sauna and steam room available at additional charge. Despite having a problem with my room, the staff managed to deal with the issue quickly and efficiently as well as providing me with an upgrade. In summary, I'm happy to recommend this hotel for people staying in the city

We stayed here for the rugby. When we checked in they could not find our reservation and was passed to another member of staff. While waiting for this to be resolved we were given a drinks voucher each. Over an hour later we were still waiting for our room key and the person dealing with us was more interested in showing other guests where the restaurant was before she was questioned again with regards our booking. We missed our restaurant booking outside of the hotel as a result and all she could say was I can get you a taxi. No apology. Hour and half later we eventually got to our room, the shower door leaked, the built in cupboards doors need to be removed and realigned. The bed had two mattress toppers and a large dip to the center clearly a new mattress us needed! Check out was midday. Before we had left the room someone was trying to get in - a member of staff. We had just gotten out if the shower, no shout out from the person with regards being housekeeping and we had to shout for them not too enter. We then heard them knocking on other room doors stating they were housekeeping. Also you could not use the spare facilities as there was an issue. This hotel is supposed to be 4* and was a treat. At best it was 2.5*. Travelodge, IBIS and Premier Inn are more comfortable, professional and welcoming.

My mother and I recently visited this spa for a relaxation weekend, purchasing the 'One Night Spa Reviver package' for £300. Unfortunately, our experience was tarnished by several issues that overshadowed the positives. Positives: Room Quality: The room we stayed in was spacious and well-appointed, providing a comfortable environment for our stay. Dining Experience: The restaurant offered a delightful menu, and the food was genuinely enjoyable. Massage Services: The massages we received were well-executed and contributed positively to our relaxation. Negatives: Facility Access Issues: We were informed that the package included 3 hours of facility use on day of arrival or day of departure, but due to the hotels tight schedule we decided to use the facilities on the morning of our departure, but upon arrival, we were asked to pay an additional £10 each to access the swimming pool and sauna. This was unexpected, disappointing and ultimately really unprofessional. Lack of Amenities: Despite being promised robes and slippers on the email receipt, we never received them, even after multiple requests at the reception. Customer Service: The receptionist was notably extremely rude and disrespectful throughout our stay, which significantly impacted our overall experience. Conclusion: While the accommodations and services had their merits, the lack of professionalism and the issues with our package left us feeling dissatisfied. I hope the management addresses these concerns to improve future guests' experiences.

To start, the area the hotel is located, looks like one massive turd hole. Rubbish everywhere, dystopian looking scenery, crap graffiti on walls and not a welsh person in sight. The car park was helpful, at least we knew the car would be safe from all the waifs and strays outside. We get to the hotel at 10, obviously knowing we wouldnt be able to check in, but to let the staff know we were about. That was a pointless effort, we came back to the hotel at 4 to check in, but the rooms weren't ready. It says the check in starts from 3. We finally checked in at about 4:30, to different rooms. Asked if we could have rooms on the same floor at least (bare in mind, we did book these rooms back in august. So they had enough time to sort this enquiry). 2 rooms were on the 6th floor and 1 was on the 7th, well done... Not. The rooms were the best part of the experience. Bath, shower, kettle and selection of teas and hot chocolate. Comfy bed and warm rooms. So it wasnt all bad, but wouldnt visit again. The staff didnt seem on the ball and really bad ability to sort any problem, even tho they had 3 months to sort out request. Just another hotel chain treating guests as numbers and money, than actual people...

I’ve never left a negative review but it’s about time I did. Absolutely disgusting behaviour! I am a spa member but the facilities have been out of use for the past 2 months with no updates of when it will be resolved. The spa has not offered any sort of compensation for the inconvenience. I’ve emailed the spa manager but yet to receive a reply and it’s been 2 weeks. When speaking to visitors staying at the hotel, they do not inform you at the time of booking that the spa facilities are out of use, but instead email you the night before your stay when it’s too late to cancel. To make things worse they changed the opening hours of the gym from 10pm to now 7pm without informing all the members. They clearly to not respect nor value their customers at all. So if your planning on staying don’t, go somewhere else because you will not be respected. Charging premium prices for appalling service. Shame on you for exploiting your own customers
