In the heart of Manchester city – is the legendary Printworks has had an extraordinary makeover. One of Manchester’s top attractions and social hang outs, for those looking things to do or for entertainment, then there’s Arcades, a cinema as well as places to eat out.

Experience this eye-popping street of colour and movement featuring Europe’s largest digital ceiling. Free to enter all year round, from early morning to late at night. With screen content ranging from the beautiful to the bizarre, this experience truly has to be seen to be believed. The eighth wonder of the world – Manchester style!

Find out all you need to know to plan your visit and have a great day out…

Printworks has a stunning 1000m² screen on its ceiling which is the first of its kind in the UK.

It has transformed the centre into an immersive, interactive digital space flooding the central, public walkways with colour and sound. There is also a gaming screen and several smaller wayfinding screens throughout the centre.

Whilst the screens are immersive and exciting to most people, we are aware that some people may be sensitive to the lights or noise that the screen emits. If you have any photo sensitive (e.g. epilepsy), noise sensitive or other sensory physical conditions, please be aware and check out the website for further details.

Our opening hours are displayed on every page of the website but as a guide we are open to the public daily from 06.30am to 2.00am, closed only on Christmas Day. Individual venues have their own opening hours and we recommend that you check these with the venue before visiting

I was very pleasantly surprised. Came to Tank and Paddle for works Christmas do. Not the kind of place I would usually frequent. However can't fault the service or the food. And being upstairs for our bottomless brunch. Great value for money.

I actually came here to go to the Nuffield health business. I did wonder through the Paintwork place and it looks interesting. Quite a few places that look good to eat during the day and obviously turn into vibrant and busy bars at night. I have not actually been in any of the bars for over 16 years, but i remember that they are more geared towards the younger aged drinkers. Hence why i never revisited. My younger friends that go, state they are fun. Im sure there used to be a drag show bar round here somewhere. Maybe another past memory. Ohh, the Nuffield health studio was good.

I used to love coming to the Printworks for a night out and a good meal, but it's really gone downhill recently, with so many bars and restaurants closing down. Last time I came to Manchester City centre, I saw that the Irish bar Waxy O'Connors had closed down, along with the Bierkeller bar and now the Hard Rock cafe has gone too. All places I used to go to, it's dying a death in the Printworks these days, it's sad to see.

My grand daughter and her boyfriend just visited this place for a drink on the way to a Deaftones concert. The security guard approached her and told her to get some clothes on as there were children in the place. She asked was he joking and he assured her he wasn’t. She was extremely upset as she has never been treated this way before. There were families either side of her with children who were equally shocked and told her he was very rude and they had no issues with the way she was dressed. His behaviour was offensive. If you visit this place be aware they appear to have a dress code but have omitted to inform their customers.
