What better way to travel through Birmingham than on a luxury Narrowboat. Relax and take a tour through Birmingham’s canal waterways, cruise the waters and discover one of the city’s attractions.

We run regular daily and weekly trips, as well as themed cruises. You’ll cruise on one of three passenger narrowboats and will depart from the International Convention Centre Quayside, opposite Brindley Place, the bustling heart of Birmingham.

You will cruise along quiet stretches of the canal which first brought commercial life to Birmingham and was the start of the first industrial revolution over two hundred years ago. Discover the city centre’s canals and their Industrial Heritage on one of Sherborne Wharf’s luxury passenger narrowboats.

The City Heritage Route covers the Oozells Street and Icknield Port loops of the original James Brindley Canal, a section of the Sir Thomas Telford’s Main Line and the area around the National Indoor Arena and the International Convention Centre before going through the Worcester Bar at Gas Street Basin and turning to disembark at the ICC.

Check the website for departure times throughout the day.

A good trip along the canal which lasts about 65 minutes. There is a recorded commentary which gives some good information about Birmingham. There are also refreshments and a toilet on board.

Something happened to the boat so we waited for it to be fixed but the experience was nice. Audio guide and beautiful scenes around the Canal during the trip. Definitely recommend it to people who like Peaky Blinders and history of Birmingham/Wolverhampton etc 😉

We thought we'd give this tour company a try having already taken some visiting friends on the other narrow boat tour. Disappointed. They were late and we couldn't even tell if tour was running. Pricier than other company, recorded (and not very informative or exciting like the other company's tour) commentary which kept cutting out... and worst of all we couldn't see a thing through the window due to condensation... a quick squeegy before departure probably would've done the trick. This was a sight-seeing tour where not much could be seen. At least we got a hot drink (not available on other tour) and the guys seemed friendly enough. Three stars is generous but I think it's better the other company doesn't monopolise the canal tour... competition is good, these guy just need to fix up.

Booked a ride on the canal barge at Sherborne Wharf, was an interesting tour of Birmingham canals the tour is pretty much automated, and lasts about 65 minutes. There is a bar on board to where you can purchase soft drinks and alcohol tea and coffee. Was a nice little day out.
