St James Quarter in Edinburgh is the first of a new kind of shopping destination and one of the most significant city centre transformations in the UK. The New Town of Edinburgh, master planned in the 1700s by James Craig after he won a competition to design the area, possesses a distinct energy and an ongoing history of mixed-use spaces.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, the New Town became a haven for writers, printers, and publishers. The W Edinburgh at St James Quarter references this legacy with its ribbon design, which represents printing press paper unspooling.

I had a great experience parking. The place is impeccably clean, and the service is fantastic. I accidentally left my car window open, but the security personnel were incredibly attentive. They immediately informed the CCTV control team to keep an eye on my car, which made me feel very safe and reassured. The lighting is excellent too, so you never feel uneasy, even at night. Overall, a great parking facility with excellent customer care and security. Highly recommend!

Clean, well lit and the one way system works well - it feels intuitive unlike some car parks. The staff are really cheery and helpful. It’s a particularly good shout for blue badge holders - no worries about scrambling to find an on-street space and no worries about the weather! Special shout out to parking attendant Richard who gave us an extra hand as a side-loading WAV: that can mean access can be tricky in a really busy car park but he got us extra space and made sure any traffic was held so that we didn’t feel rushed getting our wheelchair user in safe & sound. Worth the cost just for that!

Brilliant experience at St James Quarter car park. The facilities were clean, well-lit, and felt very safe and easy to navigate. What really made the difference though was the customer service. David was incredibly helpful when I was unsure how to pay for my parking. He took the time to talk me through the whole process step by step, was patient, friendly, and made something that could’ve been stressful feel quick and simple. It’s rare to come across such genuinely kind and attentive service. A big thank you to David — he’s a real credit to the team. Would definitely use this car park again!

Excellent service today by Dan in the car park . Car battery decided to die as we entered the car park. Initially it looked like a nightmare but was sorted with the minimum of fuss by the mighty Dan. Dan helped us move it, let us shop for an hour or so and then came back to jump start it. He also gave safe suggestions on what to do with car. All in a pleasant and positive manner. He’s a hero. Not all hero’s wear capes. Good stuff. Also a shout out to the unnamed female voice in the box who we spoke to and was also wonderful. Well done guys!

Great car park for non disabled guests but the accessible bays are incredibly tight at the back making them impossible to load wheelchairs into. Had to pull forward into the lane to get enough room at the back
