The Balmoral Edinburgh

This hotel was fantastic from the moment I stepped out the car there was a loverly doorman in his kilt who greeted us to help with our luggage we then had s very pleasant greeting by Jack who checked us in and armed us with all the knowledge that we needed to know about the hotel he also took us to our room he was very professional polite friendly and made a very good impression. Our room was spotless with complimentary water and Tea and coffee facilities. The bed was comfortable and there were plug sockets next to the bed hooray! The marble bathroom was just as nice. We ordered some room service again the food was brilliant and the service and staff were 10/10. Theres a fire in reception which added that coziness to the cold outside. Breakfast was absolutely superb and so inviting again the service was outstanding. I loved the little jams on the table. There is also a beautiful afternoon tea room which was so delightful and pretty. We were always asked after we ate at breakfast if we would like new cutlery which was a nice touch. Checking out was easy I can’t recommend this hotel and its wonderful staff enough.

We had an amazing stay here for my partner's 30th birthday. The staff were incredible throughout the whole stay, always helpful and friendly. They arranged some additional amenities at the last minute (which was my own fault!). The food on offer was excellent, rooms tidy and the room preparation throughout the day made it even more special. A perfect location for a special occasion. Thank you to all of the staff at The Balmoral for making my partner's 30th so amazing.

Exceptional. Visited the bar for a few drinks. Was immediately made to feel welcome. Warm and welcoming, busy and vibrant. Felt like we were mixing it with the rich and famous for the afternoon. Drinks were around £10 per pint and £17 medium glass of wine. Yes, expensive, however was also about the experience, location and venue. Spent the afternoon talking to a lovely gentleman sat at the bar. Would love to spend another cosy afternoon there.

Had the best stay here. Beautiful building. The concierge team, especially Jose, truly looked out for me— even helping me with my bags to the train! The front desk and restaurant staff, like Kasia, went out of their way to make me feel welcome and remembered my breakfast orders. This is truly a 5-star experience— book now!

Our son booked us a 2 night stay in the Balmoral for our 30th wedding anniversary and oh my what a fabulous stay we had. From the moment we arrived at the hotel the staff couldn't do enough for us. From the door porter to the all the reception crew, the way we were treated we honestly felt like we were the most important people in the hotel and we were even given a free upgrade to an executive room which was lovely. After giving us an extremely early check in (around 10:30 am) we were taken to our room by one of the porters who insisted on taking our bags for us which was nice. The room was absolutely luxurious, extremely spacious with a huge bed. The huge bathroom was also immaculate. The hotel itself is so luxurious, from the reception area to the bar/restaurant and the amazing Palm Court tea room. Unfortunately we didn't have time to experience the Palm Court as we had other plans but will definitely use it when we return. We used the Bar Prince on a couple of occasions and once again all the staff we encountered were so professional, friendly, polite and immaculately turned out. Over the years years me and my wife have stopped at some lovely hotels around the world but we can honestly say that our experience at the Balmoral was the best we've ever had. We were so sad when we had to check out but we will definitely be returning to this wonderful hotel in the beautiful city.
