The Parkgate Hotel

We didn't stay in the hotel but had the 90 mins spa and two course lunch package for 2, and my friend also had a massage. It was a perfect treat day out for two old friends! Rave reviews of the massage, spa area is small, but also quiet, relaxing, comfortable, great views and exactly what we needed to chat and relax. Lunch was some of the best food we had eaten in a while, and a beautiful setting. The service from our waitress Giovanna was outstanding. Thank you.

Wonderful Stay and Excellent Dining Experience We had a fantastic experience at this hotel and restaurant. The hotel rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a relaxing atmosphere that made the stay very enjoyable. The staff were warm, professional, and always willing to help, which really added to the overall experience. The restaurant was equally impressive. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, with a great variety of options on the menu. Service was prompt and courteous, out server was a lovely gentleman named Mo who was excellent. The ambiance was perfect for both casual dining and special occasions.

We had an absolutely unforgettable evening at the Sorting Room at The Parkgate, and that is largely thanks to Mo, who went above and beyond to make our visit truly special. From the moment we arrived, Mo made us feel incredibly welcome and looked after. Knowing that my partner and I have recently welcomed a newborn, he surprised us with a beautifully thoughtful congratulations plate, which genuinely touched us and set the tone for the entire evening. Little details like this meant the world to us. Throughout the night, our water glasses were constantly topped up without us ever having to ask, and the service was seamless and attentive without ever feeling intrusive. Mo’s dessert recommendations were outstanding he clearly knows the menu inside out and spoke with real passion and confidence, which made choosing an absolute pleasure. We also had some dietary requirements, and Mo handled these with complete professionalism, going out of his way to make adjustments to our meal so we could fully enjoy the experience. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and his calm, friendly manner made everything effortless. This was a special evening we will never forget, and Mo played a huge part in that. Please do pass this message on to him he truly deserves the recognition. The entire team was also fantastic, from arrival to departure we felt genuinely cared for and treated like VIPs. We mention Mo specifically only because he shone so brightly, but this takes nothing away from the rest of the amazing staff. The rooms was spotless and all up-to-date, even with USB charging in the wall plug makes things so easy, they accommodated us with a cot for the baby as well and the baby slipped peacefully all night. Finally, we wish Mo all the very best with his own new baby arriving in the New Year what a lucky little one to have such a kind, thoughtful person as a parent. Thank you all for such a memorable night. We will absolutely be back.

Very good experience, from the first impression. My room was handed to me upon very early arrival because it was ready. Facilities is great, I enjoyed the gym, room is very good and cleanliness level is excellent. I lost two items and they found them to me. I also find the breakfast great although starting at 7 am is very late.

My wife and I stayed here during a weekend break in December. The hotel is furnished to a very high standard and is situated close to the central railway station and the city centre shops and bars. Our room was of a reasonable size, had plenty of plugs to charge devices and head height safe which allowed easy access. There were even instructions how to change room temperature which was useful. The breakfast area was extensive as were the breakfast options. The staff were very helpful and polite. We had a really pleasant stay and would happily stay there again.
