Is there parking available?

The Parkgate Hotel is located in the centre of Cardiff city, therefore we are unable to offer on-site parking or valet parking services. Thanks to its convenient location, there are a range of public transport options, as well as public car parks, within walking distance of the hotel.

How far is the nearest train station?

The nearest train station will be Cardiff Central Train Station (10 minute walk).

What is the checking in and checking out times please?

Check-in is from 4.00pm on the day of arrival and check-out on the day of departure is at 11.00am. Occasionally, we may be able to accommodate an earlier check in, but this is subject to availability on the day and cannot be assured in advance. Late departures are by prior arrangement, subject to availability and may attract an additional premium. Guests wishing to drop off their luggage before their room is ready may do so with the Guest Service Desk.

Are we able to pay by cash or card for the remainder of our stay?

The Parkgate Hotel does not accept cash or cheque payments. Payments can be made contactless via card or our mobile app.

Can we book the restaurant as we arrive or do we need to book in advance?

All dining reservations must be booked in advance, this also includes breakfast for hotel guests. You can view menus and place dining reservations quickly online. Hotel guests will receive an email a week before and on the day of their arrival with more dining information.

We stayed in a Deluxe Junior Suite at The Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff and were really impressed. The room was stunning – beautifully designed and absolutely spotless. Everything felt luxurious and well maintained. The staff were all friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the breakfast was very good. We also had an evening meal in the restaurant, which was lovely, and our server Mo really stood out – very friendly and provided excellent service. Our only slight issue was with noise. Our room was on the first floor, and as light sleepers, we noticed the windows weren’t very soundproof. There are a couple of bars opposite the hotel, and even though it was a quiet night due to the weather, we could still hear cars and some bar noise. I imagine it could be much louder in the summer. I did ask if we could change rooms, but the hotel was fully booked, so unfortunately that wasn’t possible. When you’re paying around £230 a night, you do expect a bit more peace and quiet. That said, overall it was a lovely stay in a beautiful hotel with great staff – we’d happily return, but would definitely request a higher floor next time.

Today me and my partner visited the parkgate spa for the thermal suite and a massage each. We intereacted with many staff and each one was amazing! They were ao helpful, friendly and respectful! Alison and Monica on the front desk were fantastic, and even though I kept coming out to ask questions they were more than helpful. Then I had a parkgate massage from Saffron, while my partner had one from Anya and we were both incredibly relaxed after. They were attentive and made sure we were comfortable and happy, while giving us an amazing massage each. Nicole was also fantastic! I cannot recommend enough for a massage and trip to the spa.

I had the best experience in Cardiff at the hotel. Richard Especially enhanced this experience tenfold. He went above and beyond to make my stay more comfortable and I will be coming back every year for my matches to this hotel due to the service I received from Richard and all the other staff as well. Richard made sure that he was always there when I was leaving the hotel and coming back in to assist with anything I needed and I cannot compliment him enough. If you’re planning a trip to Cardiff, you have to stay at this hotel and you have to meet Richard

My partner and I had a fantastic experience at the Parkgate Hotel. We booked a spa package and were thoroughly impressed. The spa itself was excellent and the perfect way to relax. Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious two-course meal at the Sorting Room restaurant. The food was fantastic, and our server, Giovanna, was absolutely amazing—her service made our meal even more special. The hotel's location is super convenient, right in the city center. While the area outside felt a little unsettling, as soon as you step inside, the atmosphere is wonderful. We had a brilliant time and would highly recommend it!

Had a meal at The Sorting Room expecting high quality food, great service and lively atmosphere, and it didn't disappoint. Mo (Mohammed) our waiter was awesome. He asked if there was a special occasion (Girlfriends Birthday) and proceeded to bring an extra Cocktail before we ate and then an extra little something with the desserts. 5* to Mo, but also 5* to the Kitchen and Chefs as the food was sublime. We went for the Wellington Experience and OMG, probably the best Beef Wellington we have ever had with a Truffle Gravy, just delicious. However, the best item on the whole set meal has to be the Onion Cider Soup with the little Crispy Onions on top. This was just to die for and we could have quite easily had a big bowl of that with the warm Sour bread and Welsh Salted Butter, because that would have just been heavenly. Would I recommend, absolutely, without a doubt and will hopefully return one day for a stay over in the hotel with a reservation at The Sorting Room once more.
