FAQ's

What is it?

Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience combines immersive theatre, virtual reality, augmented reality, holograms and cutting-edge technology, all set to Jeff Wayne's iconic score; giving audiences the chance to live through the Martian invasion of 1898.

Do you need to know the story?

No, not at all! We have designed the experience to be understood and enjoyed by those who don’t know anything about The War of The Worlds.

How long is the experience?

Your experience will last for around 1 hour 50 mins, including a 20 minute interval in The Red Weed Bar. We also have our very own steampunk themed bar - The Spirit of Man, where you can enjoy drinks and delicious meals before and after your experience.

Will it be scary?

Don’t worry, it’s a fun experience and most people don’t find it too scary. There are some surprises, shocks, and moments of suspense but it’s not too scary overall.

What should I wear?

As this is an immersive experience, across two floors, we recommend you wear comfortable clothing and flat trainers or shoes. High heels, flip flops or similar are not suitable and our team reserve the right to refuse entry for health and safety reasons.

What is the minimum age?

The recommended minimum age is 10yrs. Please note that some scenes are very dark with loud noises, which some children may not enjoy. Children aged 10-15yrs will require parental consent via a waiver prior to admission and must be accompanied by an adult 18+ at all times. Under 18s must vacate the main bar area by 8pm.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive at least 45 mins before the start time on your tickets (or earlier to enjoy a drink in our steampunk themed bar). This will give you plenty of time to get checked-in, sign the waivers, and store your belongings in a locker (these are free to use). Unfortunately, we are unable to admit latecomers.

This was one of the best things I’ve done in a long time. If you’re a War of the Worlds fan or not, this is a gripping, well presented and fun experience for anyone. It’s like the ‘dungeon’ experiences but times ten! The music, the actors and the VR were absolutely spot on. I look my dad for his 60th, there were 5 of us and we all had an awesome time. 10/10 from us all!

This was amazing. Such a good experience. The actors were brilliant and were really interactive with the audience. Both me and the girlfriend really enjoyed it and we'd definitely do it again if we ever make it back to London.

Having always liked War Of the Worlds my partner bought tickets for the show for Christmas present. But also bought this Immersive experience. Absolutely brilliant from soon entered building to the end. Staff really friendly, helpful and welcoming. Loved big Martian in the middle and the pictures that were alive. The experience was so much fun and the actors were so brilliant and fun. Something I've always enjoyed and to be part of it. They told the story so well. VR on the boat and in the booth and on hot air balloon just amazing. Enjoyed so much already can't wait to do again. The bar was pricey but is to be expected as what entails. Excellent experience. Would absolutely recommend

I can’t believe the rave this experience gets. I was weary about booking as I couldn’t imagine how good a VR experience could possibly be but was swayed by the outstandingly consistent 5 star reviews this experience had on different platforms. I guess if you’re an ultra fan of TWOTW you could overlook things but if I were a fan, I would be embarrassed. I came in and my hopes were moderate. For the price you pay, I think it’s fair to set a standard of expectations. After you’ve been assigned to a group and have been sent in, there is an introduction. You sit in this cinema room and basically watch a really cringy projection. And that’s basically the whole experience; it’s a rinse and repeat. I genuinely tried to stay positive and give the experience a chance to prove it was worth the price but it just went downhill from there. They just make you travel from room to room where you don’t really do anything. It’s basically a really overvalued museum. The VR scenes are SO outdated, it looks like the graphics were made in 2001. The actors do their job I guess but they ask questions and we don’t really know what to say. I don’t get it, I don’t get the hype, the super positive reviews, none of it. For this price you would expect something like the Harry Potter experience at Warner bros studios (which I even found that to be an okay experience) but no! It was nowhere near as good as even your most basic museum! The acting is okay, kind if GCSE level acting, the script very cringy, this was overall awful. Oh and there is a very unnecessary drink break during the experience. The worst part of all of this was leaving the building and hearing someone from my group saying how much they loved it. This made me realise the reviews are genuine but also very delusional. It looks like the diehard fans of TWOTW are happy to take what they can but for the average person who just wants to enjoy an experience, absolutely poor. Save. Your. Money.
