FAQ's

What is it?

Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience combines immersive theatre, virtual reality, augmented reality, holograms and cutting-edge technology, all set to Jeff Wayne's iconic score; giving audiences the chance to live through the Martian invasion of 1898.

Do you need to know the story?

No, not at all! We have designed the experience to be understood and enjoyed by those who don’t know anything about The War of The Worlds.

How long is the experience?

Your experience will last for around 1 hour 50 mins, including a 20 minute interval in The Red Weed Bar. We also have our very own steampunk themed bar - The Spirit of Man, where you can enjoy drinks and delicious meals before and after your experience.

Will it be scary?

Don’t worry, it’s a fun experience and most people don’t find it too scary. There are some surprises, shocks, and moments of suspense but it’s not too scary overall.

What should I wear?

As this is an immersive experience, across two floors, we recommend you wear comfortable clothing and flat trainers or shoes. High heels, flip flops or similar are not suitable and our team reserve the right to refuse entry for health and safety reasons.

What is the minimum age?

The recommended minimum age is 10yrs. Please note that some scenes are very dark with loud noises, which some children may not enjoy. Children aged 10-15yrs will require parental consent via a waiver prior to admission and must be accompanied by an adult 18+ at all times. Under 18s must vacate the main bar area by 8pm.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive at least 45 mins before the start time on your tickets (or earlier to enjoy a drink in our steampunk themed bar). This will give you plenty of time to get checked-in, sign the waivers, and store your belongings in a locker (these are free to use). Unfortunately, we are unable to admit latecomers.

Having always liked War Of the Worlds my partner bought tickets for the show for Christmas present. But also bought this Immersive experience. Absolutely brilliant from soon entered building to the end. Staff really friendly, helpful and welcoming. Loved big Martian in the middle and the pictures that were alive. The experience was so much fun and the actors were so brilliant and fun. Something I've always enjoyed and to be part of it. They told the story so well. VR on the boat and in the booth and on hot air balloon just amazing. Enjoyed so much already can't wait to do again. The bar was pricey but is to be expected as what entails. Excellent experience. Would absolutely recommend

Wow, what a fun experience! I didn't know anything about the war of the world's before. I highly recommend listening to the soundtrack before if you don't know anything about the plot. It's a really Immersive Experience which really draws you into the story, and they encourage visitor interaction. All the staff are really passionate and the actors are fantastic at what they do! There's a great bar/restaurant too, which is all themed, and they serve a delicious range of food and tasty cocktails!

Absolutely fantastic experience! I’ve been a fan of the Jeff Wayne WOTW since I was a kid listening to the album with my older brothers, this is an absolute MUST SEE for fans. Loads of interaction with actors, a few VR headset sessions, some genuinely scary parts in the pitch black, jumped out of my skin at least twice! Great value for a London ‘show’ too.

The experience was really good, could not fault the actors/back stage crew. The mixture of VR and live action made the experience along with the music. My grandson aged 10 found some parts scarely but the crew helped him through that and it was his first experience of VR which he loved. The bar areas were interesting especially sitting waiting our turn. The drinks and food were reasonably priced, and photos at the end of the experience were a good price for additional ones. If I have to give a con it would be that people were not signing the T&C's on arrival(even though you were told to, so maybe a reminder poster on the wall in the waiting bar would help, just that we notice it holds up the experience waiting for people to do it before they go in. Well worth the money for the 2 hours!

As massive war of the worlds fans we weren't sure what to expect when we did this experience for my birthday but we're not disapointed. From walking in to leaving the staff and the actors were fantastic. Friendly chatty and helpful. We went for two vip tickets and that came with a meal two drinks a photo and a discount at the shop. It also came with a souvenir program but they had ran out so they took our address and will post them to us later. The experience itself was fantastic. Genuinely scary in some bits so I dont recommend if you don't like a good scare or are of a weak constitution! I have mobility problems but still managed to do the interactive elements but someone in our group couldn't and there were alternative routes if needed, and it was all done in theme! We were bumped up a group as we got there early so we had a rather large group of survivors. I feel like if we had been in a smaller group the experience would have been diffrent, but it was still heaps of fun and the actors managed to make it feel more intimate even if we had a group of 14 I will say the vr headsets need fixing. All three of the headsets I used had some sort of fault. The first one kept showing the lens distance whenever you tried to turn your head and the other two kept white screening if you moved your head to much. It didnt distract from the experience but it did take you out of it a little especially when your a massive wuss like me and will jump and yell at any sort of jump scare. We had the red weed cocktail in the interval room and it was perfectly made. Well done to the barman, he was very good at his job, and managed to serve everyone with time to spare because 20 mins wasn't a long time to make that many cocktails. We had food after in the spirit of man as it was part of our vip package. We also got two more cocktails blue new world and mist of Mars. They were both really nice, the chocolate one was fantastic. I had the vegan burger and it was one of the best vegan burgers ive ever had. The fries were better than some of high end places weve eaten while in london. The pizza was massive. I 'won' a sunday as it was my birthday. What i could eat of it was nice my other half enjoyed it ( im allergic to ice cream lol the travesty) It was the thought that counts and they didn't have to do anything but a birthday treat is always appreciated. The prices in the gift shop were all nice and clear. But here comes my only major downside to the whole thing. The place is cashless. I had over 100 in birthday money I couldn't spend because I only had cash. Then the payment systems went down. Thankfully we had already paid for the things we wanted in the gift shop and were waiting for food when it happened. Also the gift shop had few clothing items bigger than a small. Again we would have spent a fortune if more things were in bigger size. I managed to get the hoodie I wanted but it was the last medium in the shop! All in all an amazing day vip worked out as really good value for money as we added up food drink programs lockers and the such and it came to more than what we paid for the tickets.
