You can find West Midlands Safari Park outside of Birmingham. This family attraction brings the wildlife within touching distance, with their animal encounters or you can learn about the fantastic animals in one of their talks that happens throughout the Park. A great day out for all the family, so don’t forget to take a trip around the Safari Drive, to see the big animals in action.

West Midlands Safari Park is a fantastic, award-winning visitor attraction, located in the heart of England. Their mission is to bring people together to create unique wildlife experiences that exhilarate, educate and leave memories to last a lifetime.

They’re home to a variety of all-weather attractions, including four miles of drive-through safari, a thrilling dinosaur exhibit and a theme park.

Currently, over 100 different species call the Park home, and can be seen either in the comfort of a car on the Safari, or on foot in the walk-through exhibits.

In summer 2021, the Park introduced Safari Lodges – luxury accommodation, allowing guests to stay overnight for the first time. There are currently Lodges overlooking elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, rhinos, tigers, lions and red pandas.

Opening hours vary throughout the year, so please check the website for those details.

We visited West Midlands Safari Park mid-week on an off-peak day specifically to avoid queues and crowds, and it worked out really well, there were virtually no queues for most things. It made the whole experience much more relaxed, especially with a young child. Our toddler absolutely loved seeing such a wide range of animals up close. The drive-through safari was a great start to the day, and being able to see the animals from the car made it really exciting for little ones. After finishing the car safari, we parked up and enjoyed walking around the rest of the park. The facilities were very family-friendly, which made the visit easy and comfortable with a young child. The staff we encountered throughout the park were polite and helpful, which always makes a difference. Overall, it was a really enjoyable day out for the whole family and we would definitely go again.

Stayed in the Elephant Lodge which was fantastic but 5 star review really given off the back of Rachel who gave us the tour of the safari park in one of the Land Rover’s. Her knowledge was AMAZING, she was fantastic and bought the experience alive. It is so nice to see someone so dedicated about what they do and have a clear passion for the animals. I loved how much she made the experience so immersive. I loved hearing about how she got into the role and her neighbour having a lion as a pet during the times it was legal to own one! Thank you so much! It’s lovely to see the animals so well looked after and protected. The lodges were lovely but the food supplied certainly wasn’t as good as it could have been for the price, especially the breakfast, but was quick and easy to prepare. Clean and tidy. Very comfortable and well presented. A nice addition would be some blankets you could use on the decking areas otherwise well equipped and cosy.

This is a fantastic place to take your family. It took us most of the day to walk around where we saw a huge array of animals insects, reptiles and birds. There is so much to see here and you can take your own picnic if you choose not to buy food on site. There is also an option 2\nDrive around the safari park if preferred. Highly recommended.

I went with my family, my parents and my partner so as 4 adults. It was really great, I have always heard of such good things about this safari park and have been excited to visit for a long time, and it was really impressive and lived up to expectations. I have visited both Knowsley and Longleat before, and they were both impressive in their own right. What West Midlands Safari Park did best that made them different, was the lack of queues, the way the routes in the enclosures we laid out so you could get really close to the animals whilst the animals remained safe, some of their enclosures were huge and i absolutely loved just how much the park had to offer with all of these extra events, shows, talks and the walking part - we didn’t quite realise just how much the park would have to explore and adventure and we wish we had arrived earlier to truly experience it all. The staff were amazing, at every point they were kind, informative, friendly and helpful, a few initiated some small talk which really showed they cared, that they were passionate about the animals and their work, it made my day and really cheered me up just how nice everyone was. I will definitely be visiting again, considering just how much there is to enjoy the price is worth it. I really loved just how up close and personal we could get with the animals and my only complaint would be I wish there were more signage, it was confusing where we needed to go at certain points and we nearly missed the tigers during the drive thru and would’ve been great if they had their own dedicated space without having to look through bars or the plastic viewing points, and we sadly didn’t get to see the cheetah however I’m aware they are very shy animals so I can’t blame them! The animals we did get to see were amazing, I loved feeding the giraffes, I loved the sea lion show and how passionate the staff were, I loved seeing both the tiger on the drive thru feeding and the lions on the walk ripping at bones. I feel like we were very lucky with everything we got to see, and I love that there’s Dholes, I have never seen a Dhole in person before and I don’t know any other parks that have them, I found them the most exciting part of my trip just because I’ve always wanted to see a Dhole and I didn’t realise they were here :) I would love more merchandise specifically tailored and made for the park! Such as artwork, and anything to do with the Dholes c: I loved all the recycled plushies however and we got one of each thing that had been branded by West Midlands Safari park, we like to get souvenirs as memories specifically tailored to each park we have visited, and it’s our way of supporting the park. Update - Me and my Partner went again, we got to see the Cheetah’s up close!!!! We were very fortune with the timing and got to see them being fed early in the morning, great fun seeing them be silly! This safari is definitely worth visiting multiple times, every occasion I’ve got to be up close with different animals, of course the way they interact with us and each other is different everytime, it’s just so magical being able to watch them from so close, I don’t think anything will be so special, I can’t wait to go again :)

I have visited here numerous times over the years, with various people. This time i came with my 7 yr old daughter. We arrived shortly after 10am and after stopping for a quick toilet break, joined the queue to enter. It moved quite quickly once they opened a second entry point. You are not allowed to feed the animals around the safari drive anymore, which is a shame, as it means animals come much closer. The drive was really good and we saw all the animals on show with rhinos and giraffes up close. My daughter loved it and wanted to go around again. It took us about 90 minutes to drive around i would say. In the walking area they have made some big changes to accomdate the new lodges they have, so there is a nice walk around the white lions and cheetahs. Only animals we didnt see was the cheetahs. We fed the lorikeets which is always fun. The sea lion show is alot of fun and the staff got the crowd involved. All staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. The tickets were 19 odd pound each, which is cheaper then i remember and for what you got, i felt were good value. A ice cream and a lattee cost us 8 odd quid which felt a little steep but its a closed audience and expected. Overall really enjoyed going back and likly to return at some point
