4 night at the ibis budget Hotel Edinburgh Park

I stayed at the ibis Budget hotel from the 3rd to the 5th of December with my disabled mother, and overall we had a pleasant experience. We were given an accessible room, which was ideal for us. The room itself was perfectly fine, and the bathroom was spacious enough for my mum to move around comfortably. She especially appreciated the seat in the shower, which made things much easier for her. The only issue we had was that the TV in our room didn’t work. My mum went to reception to let them know, and a gentleman from the front desk came to the room to see if he could fix the problem. He wasn’t sure what was wrong with it and, despite trying, couldn’t get it working. He apologised repeatedly, though we kept reassuring him that it wasn’t his fault. He even kindly offered us free pizza, which we declined as we had just eaten — this was around 6pm. Since the TV couldn’t be fixed, he arranged for us to move to another accessible room. When we arrived, the TV was already working and the heating was on, which was lovely. We were very grateful for the receptionist’s help and couldn’t thank him enough for how attentive and understanding he was. Overall, despite the small hiccup, the staff member’s professionalism and kindness made the stay a positive one

The plan was simple: find a budget hotel close to Edinburgh Airport — and it worked perfectly. The hotel met our expectations. The room was small but clean and functional, with a shower cabin and toilet. The mattress was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a bistro on the ground floor where you can have a drink, eat something, or buy takeaway food. Paid parking is available (a few pounds). The hotel is only about 8 minutes by car from the airport, which allowed us to catch our early morning flight without any issues and saved us a late-night trip to the airport. We will definitely use this hotel again if we need a convenient place to stay near the airport.

Good hotel for the price. It is clean and the people who work there are very nice. It is very easy to get to the city centre with public transport. The hotel is near the airport but it's not too noisy. I've been there twice already and I can recommend it, if you are travelling on a budget but want to see the sights in and near Edinburgh.

It definitely was a cheap option and does the trick for a couple nights away. I choose it as it’s right next to the airport and a tram to take you into the centre. The tram ride into the centre is a good 35 minutes though. The room was very basic and lacks privacy. The shower is in the main room and the sink is too. The door to the toilet has a gap at the top so it is really basic. It does the trick tho and reception were helpful and they cleaned the rooms during our stay.

The one star is for the few members of the staff that were so nice and helpful during our whole stay during breakfast. This hotel would only be slightly okay for a single night stay. We stayed there for 7 days and were 3 people in total. Right when we got there, there was a problem with our room card as it didn’t work. Staff on the clock eventually got us another room but weren’t apologetic at all but seemed to think that by giving us some candy they were? Without apologising of course. When we finally were installed in the room, the room wasn’t really cleaned. There was dust everywhere and the upper bed wasn’t made up. I got into that bed and discovered a huge disgusting stain on the bed cover. When I went to the same staff and showed it to him, he reacted nonchalantly and gave me another one all balled up. Safe to say I didn’t use that one either. Overall the room was super tiny and maybe large enough for one person but definitely not for 3. Be prepared to see a lot of each other since the shower is inside the room next to the double bed. You can see each other shower. The toilet is also inside the bedroom right next to the shower. The room theoretically gets cleaned every 3 days, with every day fresh towels but we never experienced a clean room even when we explicitly asked the front desk if our floor could get cleaned since there was a lot of dirt because of our shoes. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
