We got married at this stunning country club, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff were absolutely incredible — professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. Our wedding planner was a total standout, taking all the stress off our shoulders and making the entire day feel effortless. It truly was the best night of my life. The venue itself is breathtaking, and while it’s slightly on the pricier side, that’s exactly what you’d expect from one of Scotland’s finest. Worth every penny for memories we’ll cherish forever.

Well one of the best hotels I have ever been and I was almost everywhere:-) really special place, great people around. Fantastic breakfast, great evening in the garden. There is a bus stop on the road by the gate to the hotel, two buses will take you to the city in 20 min. I hope to come back one day.

This is on a beautiful property with many rooms for staying. We came in with our tour group and stayed 3 nights here. The accommodations were nice and the reception staff took care of us. The dining staff on the first night kept us from eating there again though, at least at night. I’m not sure what was going on but we had trouble getting sat for supper at the more kid friendly restaurant on the property until the GM of the hotel himself stepped in and the serving staff was stretched really thin to where we walked down the hall for our own drinks after waiting 20 minutes. The food was great which definitely saved the overall experience. The rooms were comfortable and great for families.

The location of the hotel is pretty good, £15 - £18 uber to Edinburgh centre. Very nice grounds and the golf course looked lovely. That seems to be where all the money is spent as the rooms are very tired… Black mould around the bathroom, rusted towel rack and a shower mixer from the 1980s with a leaky hose and bad water pressure that isn’t a consistent temperature. Tired rooms and furnishings, broken mini bar fridge without even a bottle of water in it to drink. The restaurant food was not great. Heavily salted and heavily priced and not particularly tasty. £80+ for a modest dinner for two felt wasted. Also, the staff are setting up the tables around you ready for breakfast at 8:15pm while you’re trying to order dinner 😂 when you’re charging these kind of prices, and the food isn’t great, you might want to at least attempt to make diners feel welcome, especially when the staff-guest ratio was about 1-1! So all in all, The Dalmahoy is what it is - a typical underfunded, underwhelming and slightly overpriced English country house. It will remain so also as that is what it is and shall remain, despite this review or any others!

You know that saying, 'the fence is nicely painted on the outside, but inside there's a leopard'? Beautiful building, stunning golf courses and grounds, but the level of service leaves much to be desired. I stayed there for a few nights in early May and still haven’t received the invoice, despite requesting it repeatedly, as the trip was paid for by my company. Considering that the company managing this hotel is based in the British Virgin Islands, I imagine they’re not too bothered about issuing an invoice every now and then.
