Happened to stay here when I did as it just so happened to be one of the most affordable at that time of year? (April 2025) Room was great, good size, nice bathroom. The Location next to the zoo and the proximity to the shops one side and the center the other end of the road is great. Only negative experience when I was there, which wasn't the hotels fault was just some young lads set off the fire alarm which then wouldn't stop for a while. So I sat in my car with my partner until it was turned off properly.

We stayed at a cozy hotel not far from the city centre — clean rooms, friendly staff, and a great breakfast each morning. The location was ideal: close to restaurants, shops, and just a short ride to the zoo. The room was comfortable, quiet at night, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. 🦁 Edinburgh Zoo: Visiting Edinburgh Zoo was the highlight of the trip! The zoo is large, beautifully laid out on a hillside, and home to an amazing variety of animals. The penguin parade was adorable and fun to watch, and we were lucky to see the giant pandas, which are very rare in Europe. There were also lions, tigers, koalas, monkeys, and more — great for both kids and adults.

This Holiday Inn is better than what I expected!😄The room is bright and has a TV with YT! And we charged our phone here too, it is fast! The zoo is just next to the hotel, only requires a 1 min walk! Of course you have to buy tickets first. Next time we will choose to stay in this hotel again if there is no other better one. Staffs all have great manners !

The hotel was great the only issue we had was some noisy zoo animals (but I'm a light sleeper and it was lovely to hear them). The location was perfect for the zoo and doesn't actually take too long from the city centre or to the airport. Our room was a decent size (family of 4). All the staff were friendly and attentive. There was a craft table for kids in the bar area which was a nice touch. The pool was small (and a little cold for me) but the kids enjoyed it and didn't complain about the temperature. The changing room was clean and had a little machine to spin your swimming stuff to dry it out a bit. Towels are also supplied for the pool. We had some food after being at the zoo all day and it was reasonable. The kids meals were free which was a nice surprise. The Starbucks coffee was also good and there was a nice selection of drinks in the bar. We would go back if we're in the area.

I would like to acknowledge the check-in staff, especially Binni, for his excellent service. He could tell I was stressed as I had blocked my PIN code on my credit card and was struggling to pay and he helped me find a solution but sending me a link to pay at my convenience. I also thought the restaurant was very good, and a decent price for breakfast. We spent half as much as we did in the city centre. If their car park is full you can stay for free until 10am in the zoo car park. There is a bus stop for the airlink right outside too. Cost £5.50 per person on way from the airport. Check out was very fast too. Only thing I wasn’t too impressed with was the small bathroom and a noisy AC unit. Apart from that I was pleased with the stay
