Use it as a base to explore the Peaks or head into Chester to visit its famous zoo, only a 45 minute drive. Manchester city centre is a short train ride away and is packed with museums, galleries, and shops galore.

Prefer to stay local? Cheadle Hulme has a lovely selection of cafes and bars to enjoy, plus a scattering of green spaces like leafy Bramhall Park. Stockport is also a short drive away with lots to do including dining and street food, as well as premium bars and independent traders.

Additionally, we are located a 15 minute to Manchester Airport so make a great over night before jetting off.

You don’t need to go far to enjoy a mouth-watering meal at the Governor’s House. Pop downstairs to the pub and dig into a selection of hearty, home-cooked dishes. There’s a great selection of ales, wines and spirits in the bar, and a lovely beer garden ideal for sunnier days.

We just celebrated my wife's and her twin sisters birthday and had a table of 17 people. The staff (Natalie & Mark) were amazing start to finish and we're so attentive. They really helped make the night special. The food was absolutely gorgeous as well. Everyone had something different and thought that they were all gorgeous. My shepherd's pie was one of the nicest shepherds pies I have ever had. Would definitely recommend

Massive thank you to Olivia and Jo for all their efforts in helping make my dads 60th birthday meal special. From dealing with me on the phone for the pre-orders, setting the area up quickly to the fabulous service throughout. There was 29 of us and thanks to them and Evan the whole day ran smoothly and everyone was happy! Thank you to the chef too as the food was lovely as always and everyone's came out together. There was no waiting round which I found surprising as there was so many of us. Highly recommend the Govenors and their staff..Brilliant service and atmosphere everytime. Thank you all!

Always make space for us and are wonderful at finding a quiet table for us and our autistic daughter. Couldn’t praise the staff highly enough. Great food and drink and wonderful atmosphere. Natalie who served us tonight was brilliant, much appreciated.

I contacted the pub to see if they could host our antenatal class reunion. Staff were brilliant from the start, explaining buffet options and giving us a private area which could fit all the people and prams. Staff were brilliant on the day too, the food was great and everyone had a great time. Thank you so much!

Visited this establishment last week for a 12.00 lunch. The decor of this place is very nice, it has a good feel. Food was good and served fairly promptly. Our waiter was not a happy chappy. I don't know if they were short staffed or he was just having a bad day. The vibe was uncomfortable and it tainted our enjoyment. We have been here many times and this was the first time I have had negative feedback. We won't be rushing back.
