FAQ's
What are your opening hours?
Modern Art Oxford is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 12-5pm. We are closed on Mondays. The gallery has a rolling programme of temporary exhibitions which are planned 12 to 18 months in advance. We do not have a permanent collection. For this reason, when an exhibition ends there is often a 3-week period where the Shop and Café are open but our galleries are closed while they are prepared for our next exhibition
Is the Café open?
Our Café is open Tuesday-Friday 10am-4pm, Saturday 10am-4.30pm and Sunday 12-4.30pm, serving homemade soups, sandwiches and salads, as well as teas and our special house blend of Lavazza coffee.
Is the gallery wheelchair accessible?
Modern Art Oxford’s public spaces are set over three floors, and we have stair-free access to all our floors. The entrance on St Ebbe’s Street is at street level, and there is a platform lift at the Pembroke Street entrance. Our passenger lift is located in the Café and goes to the galleries and the basement. The lift dimensions are 130cm wide by 140cm deep (and 230cm high). The clear door opening is 85cm wide, and the max weight in the lift is 800kg (8 persons).
Do you have a hearing loop?
There are induction loop units in the Shop and Cafe areas to aid communication with visitors.
How much does an exhibition ticket cost?
Tickets to most of our exhibitions are free.
Am I allowed to visit the gallery with a large group?
We offer tours for groups of more than 10, but we ask that you contact us in advance of your visit so we can ensure we can accommodate you.
