Absolutely beautiful place, plenty to see (including a Kingfisher & a Gooseander Duck) You could spend all day, no problem. Cafes for eating, drinking & conviences. Not forgetting squirrels & oh so friendly staff. What a place. 😘

I just adore this place, it's almost like my own secret garden. Soooo quite and heavenly. My reading went very veryyyy well here and my thoughts ran prettily. My favourite place in Edinburgh dare I say.

What a great asset to Edinburgh and it’s free to enter! It’s technically only a mile from where I am staying (near St James Quarter) but I reached it by a rather convoluted route and entered at the East Gate. It really is a beautiful place and I would love to return later in the year, particularly to see the rhododendrons. I was amazed to find that one of the rhododendrons was already in full flower( early February)! The gardens are well laid out with plenty of signage; some routes are not suitable for wheelchair users but there are alternatives. I would suggest buying one of the maps (only £2) which not only gives the layout but also information about some of the plants and trees. Ample cafes and toilet facilities. Be aware that the glasshouses are closed for the foreseeable future. Wonderful views across the city. Highly recommended!

Such a lovely place to walk around. Is very well signed posted if in wheelchair or pushchair so know if the path is accessible or not. They hire wheelchairs and electric mobility scooter. Nice gift shop and has a couple of cafes. On road parking outside with some disabled places. Would definitely like to come back and see it in another season

So many different fauna and beautiful plots to explore! Didn't get the chance to view the glass greenhouse as it was cordened off, and we visited during the day so we didn't get to witness the Christmas lights in all of its glory, but it was great to walk through and admire. Perfect for couples and families as a day out.
