It felt like stepping back in time into royal history. The self-guided audio tour was very informative and easy to follow, giving insight into both the grandeur and the everyday life aboard the Queen’s former yacht. Highlights for me included the Queen’s bedroom, the engine room, and the charming tearoom with a beautiful view. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Edinburgh – it’s a must-see

Beautifully preserved and full of charm, the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh is a rare glimpse into royal life at sea. Each deck feels like walking through history—with elegant rooms, polished brass, and lovely little details that show how the royal family lived and entertained. The audio guide is excellent, and the tearoom on board is a treat. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Edinburgh.

I came here with my family for the second time and it was amazing. We went through the whole ship and were amazed by things like how many workers were on board and how beautiful all the furniture was. I strongly recommend coming here and next time I am in Scotland I will visit again.

A complete self guided tour of the ship, top to bottom. An excellent audio tour device is included. An excellent opportunity to see how the Royal family of the United Kingdom lived in the ship. We were fortunate to visit during the week when former crewmen were, as volunteers, performing maintenance on the ship. Their personal stories were the most insightful and interesting part of the visit.

I wanted to just see it from the outside but honestly it was worth the £20 to go inside and have a look around. It’s so modest to say it was a royal boat for short of 50years. I’m not really a royalist but this was worth a visit. Make sure you have at least an hour and a half to do it. Also we went for last admission on a Saturday (4pm) and we hardly had any crowds which made it easy to walk round
