The staff are amazing, the service is spectacular! Location is perfect. The hotel is let down by the fact its so dated. My advice to the owners, help your staff out by updating the hotel. Carpets although clean are so dated and they are literally coming up. Bathroom although clean they are so dated. Beds uncomfortable. The tv is from 2010 in sure.

I stayed at the Dragon Hotel for three nights. I drove there. Location: really easy to get to off the M4. Has a car park that charges £10 per 24 hours but is really convenient and has easy access for wheelchair users. The team welcomed me and brought a trolley to transfer my luggage from the car to the lift which was so impressive and also done with a lovely smile :-). The hotel is wonderfully central and my room looked out onto city, hills and sea which was sublime :-). The staff: 100/10 🌟. Polite, go above and beyond to help, gave the hotel a family feel which is so rare in these uber-corporate times. I wanted to know where i could eat a nice fish meal. Instead of just pointing to one restaurant the wonderful reception team made a bespoke information sheet of two sides of places with details, location and reviews and helped me find a wonderful place for meal on the waterside that was just 5 minutes away from the hotel by car :-)). Even a 5 star hotel would not do that. The room: big, clean, with a not-trying-to-feel-like-a-B&q-showroom feel. Not pretentious. Simple decor. Huge, great WIFI connection included. comfortable bed. Road outside could be a little noisy on a friday night, but slept well nonetheless. Maybe a tiny bit like 1970s but hey, retro is back:-). Loved the hot bath after a long journey by car. Shower wasn't the most powerful but adequate. Daily top ups of soap and gels which were good quality. The Restaurant: bijou but again wonderful staff. The menu was small and bar rather limited for people who don't drink alcohol, but staff were keen to hear suggestions and I think somewhere that it will become a quite special place to eat and drink with a little alteration in vision with possibly more of the dragon theme :-). The French onion soup i had was very welcome on a stormy night. Would definitely stay here again. Xx

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. For £91 I stayed at The Dragon Hotel in Swansea after a long day cycling — around six hours on the bike — and arrived late afternoon, tired and just wanting somewhere clean to rest. Unfortunately, the room I was given was nowhere near an acceptable standard. - The mattress was black with mould, clearly visible when I checked the bed. See attached pictures) - Water was running down the internal wall, and there was rising damp along the bottom section. - The carpet was heavily soiled, with stains throughout the room. - I found used tissue under the bed, which suggests the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. - There were bogies smeared on the mirror, which was extremely unhygienic. - The toilet wouldn’t flush, making the bathroom unusable. After seeing the state of the room, I felt uncomfortable staying there at all. In the morning, I left without raising it at reception because I genuinely felt too uncomfortable to deal with the confrontation. I just wanted to get out, shower properly elsewhere, and feel clean again. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, and the room conditions were far below what any guest should expect.

The female receptionist was extremely rude and had a terrible attitude. The Hotel had made an error on the booking and she was extremely defensive and unapologetic. We were made to wait uncomfortably while they attempted to fix the issue. We remained polite. They did eventually give us a room but it was a nightmare, mouldy, grubby, falling apart. The young male receptionist however I will say had great customer service and was calm and friendly throughout. I would not book here ever again though, not worth it.

The rooms are disgusting… We stayed in a “family suite” but it is smaller than their regular suite which we also stayed in. Both rooms were filthy and lacked BASIC maintenance. Only one lift works and it only fits 2 people comfortably maybe 3. The hallways smell like cigarettes. The only thing good about this hotel is its proximity to Zincos and other great restaurants. Even then, there are people smoking at the entrance of the hotel which produces an awful smell that enters the lobby and makes it hard to breathe. DO NOT STAY HERE.
