Whilst visiting our grandson at university in Swansea, my wife and I made a trip to Cwm Donkin Park and Dylan Thomas' house. It proved to be a wonderful experience . The. park is very well maintained and exactly as we imagined and after spending about an hour there, we moved on to Dylan's birthplace for the house tour . What a treat was in store for us! We were met by the owner, Geoff, who sat us in the front parlour and proceeded to give us an illuminating history of the house and the time Dylan spent there. We were then left to investigate the whole house in our own time and see how the family lived there. It was a real priveledge to be looked after so well by Geoff, a remarkable man, who made us feel most welcome and was so knowledgeable that we learnt much more about Dylan's life - a totally unique experience.

An amazing experience! Geoff and his team have done a wonderful job refurbishing Dylan Thomas' birthplace. During our stay, we were able to imagine how the family lived and how the young Dylan grew into a poet and writer. We deeply appreciate your painstaking efforts—both in the historical research and in the actual renovation. Since even modern singers appreciate DT, I hope this house will continue to endure for many years to come.

A "hidden gem" where we had a truly memorable visit followed by an enormous afternoon tea served by Geoff whose warm welcome and obvious love for the house only added to the experience. We were surprised to be the only two visitors on the day. Please spread the word about this lovely place.

Absolutely loved our stay here. We were able to speak with the owner and get some history and tales of the house and it's restoration. You can definitely tell it has been a labor of love. Schedule a tour, stay if you can. Help them keep this important piece of literary history going.

It was truly a treat to stay in the house where Dylan Thomas was born, grew up and wrote much of his early work. If you are a Thomas fan, or even if you think you might become one someday, don't miss the chance to stay a night or more here. There are many writer's houses you can visit, but I don't know of any others you can actually live in. Since the house is restored quite faithfully to what it would have been like when DT lived there, it lacks a number of 'modern conveniences', but this is more than made up for by the authenticity of the experience. The house is full of interesting artefacts and is the best place in the world to read some of DT's many reminiscences of his childhood. We stayed for a week, using the house as a base for exploring Swansea, the Gower, Laugharne, the mountains, etc. Highly recommended.
