Absolutely loved our stay here. We were able to speak with the owner and get some history and tales of the house and it's restoration. You can definitely tell it has been a labor of love. Schedule a tour, stay if you can. Help them keep this important piece of literary history going.

Visiting the Dylan Thomas birthplace allows you to go back in time and think about the creative life of Swansea's great poet. The house is beautifully restored. The talk is so interesting and I highly recommend the tea and welshcakes sitting around the Thomas fireplace.

We visited last Sunday afternoon and had a really warm welcome and excellent introductory talk from Geoff Haden, the owner. The rooms all had good information boards about the house and the Thomas family. The house itself is beautiful, a great example of a house of its era, and the fact that Dylan Thomas lived there is the icing on the cake. Well worth a visit.... And the Welsh cakes and tea are worth having. Delicious!

We had a private tour with Welsh cakes and tea from the fabulous owner, curator, restorer and host, Geoff Haden. Upon arrival, Geoff detailed the history and significance of the house as well as its cultural importance to Swansea. I was struck at how nostalgic and comforting it felt when we sat down in the front room, as if it were a relative’s home. Geoff highlighted that feeling when he described the home as Dylan’s cwtch, his place he could always come back to with his mother there. I was so in awe and overwhelmed at how painstakingly put back together it was. The time and effort and love that Geoff and co have put into making this home what it once was, to accurately piece together a Welsh home that birthed it’s most famous export, from disrepair to a real, physical time capsule of an era in Welsh history, all the while maintaining a sense of home and warmth, the essence of hiraeth, is nothing short of sensational. A must visit for all Dylan fans and anyone curious. Thank you Geoff ❤️
