Terminal 5 Pods at Heathrow Airport, these area fleet of automatic driverless electronic vehicles that transport customers between London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 and the Thistle Hotel in just 5 minutes. Using the POD costs £8 per person for each journey made and operate between 4:00am to 12:15am everyday.

How easy is it to get into London from the hotel?

The Heathrow Express runs direct from London Paddington in just 20 minutes to the Heathrow Terminal 5 stop, with a train every quarter of an hour. London Underground also operates between the airport and the capital via the Piccadilly line and takes around 40-60 minutes from central London. Get off at the Heathrow Terminal 5 stop and follow the directions from the airport below.

Is there car parking at your hotels?

There are 450 car parking spaces available at a cost of £15.00 per car per night (when reserved with accommodation). You can save on parking fees when booking as part of a package.

Location, location people...not to mention great clean, fresh rooms. Lovely, helpful & friendly staff. There is a fantastic pub close by called the "White Horse," which I highly recommend, especially during the summertime. They have live music on Sundays and delicious cheese handburgers with a fantastic atmosphere. We are looking forward to using the transport pods to the airport early tomorrow morning. I will definitely stay here again at the Thistle.

Arrived Late at London, so took an hotel for one night close the airport T5. Room was comfortable, it was a hot summer day/night and Ac worked great, silent and fresh. Available USB for charging helped a lot, i had no UK adapter at hand. Only attention point is that the bath is quite slippery so be careful, I would recommend the hotel to add some ant-slip there. Used hotel buses to get to the hotel in front and walked to the hotel as google directed me too - seems there are pods, and normal buses are as good an cheaper. The other day I took buss in front of hotel to the city, took a bit to figure correct side of the street to wait but worked fine, you can pay with credit card a the buses.

We recently stayed at the Thistle Heathrow T5 for a quick overnight before an early flight, and overall, it was a solid airport hotel experience. We booked a Deluxe King Room directly through Thistle's website, which turned out to be the cheapest option available—good value for the price. The location is very convenient, especially when arriving from Terminal 5. The driverless pods made for a quick and easy 5-minute journey, and it was just a 2-minute walk to reception from the pod station. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, which is exactly what you want after a day of travel. The room itself was a bit dated, but honestly, that’s to be expected from an airport hotel catering to short stays. What mattered more was that it was clean, the bed was comfy, and the pillows were decent. There were tea and coffee facilities, which was a nice touch. There was a bit of noise late at night and early morning as other guests came and went, but again, that’s par for the course with a hotel this close to a major terminal. The automated shop/bar in reception was handy but definitely overpriced. Fortunately, there’s an Esso garage and a McDonald’s just a short walk (about 100m) from the entrance, which is helpful if you want to grab snacks or a quick meal. The only real downside was an unexpected fire alarm just as we were leaving. There was little direction from staff, who didn’t seem sure what was going on. It didn’t seem serious, as it stopped once we reached the car park, but still—it could’ve been handled better. Overall, if you’re looking for a clean, affordable, and conveniently located hotel for a short stay near Heathrow, the Thistle T5 is a good pick—just don’t expect luxury, and pack a bit of patience if anything unexpected crops up.

I picked this hotel as I had an overnight layover in London on my way back home. The rooms were ok, bathrooms were definitely outdated. Check in and check out were both really easy and quick. The best part of this hotel is how close it is to Terminal 5. To get to the hotel, I took a roughly 10 min bus ride on the 423 bus. The next day I decided to take the Pod and it was a cool experience. Would definitely pick this hotel again for overnight layovers.

I chose this hotel as it was near to Terminal 5. I enjoyed my stay. The bed was comfy, room was fine, and I enjoyed having a beer on the terrace of the Aviator Bar. I came to the hotel by the pods, and it was fun as you get from the hotel to the terminal in a few minutes. Though you do need to pay £8 per person each way at the hotel. I didn't mind paying for the experience. There are no lifts in the hotel, and not recommended for those with mobility issues. The hotel has only a first floor, with lots of corridors and rooms. Jokingly, I couldn't help quoting the Grady Twins from the movie 'The Shining'. "Come PLAY WITH US, DANNY..." Duly to that the hotel corridors so long, and maze-like. I didn't mind this. I rate it a 4/5 and I will definitely come back again to this hotel soon. 👍
