The menu features locally inspired dishes and seasonal produce, such as: Seared Scottish king scallops with black pudding bon-bons; pappardelle au ragù with parmesan and truffle oil; and long-horn beef fillet steak paired with grilled oyster mushroom, burnt onion purée and summer vegetables. A selection of indulgent desserts includes our lemon and lime tart with clotted cream ice cream, and valrhona chocolate fondant.

How close is the nearest airport?

Heathrow and Birmingham airports have direct transport links into Oxford. The train service from Birmingham takes 1.5 hours, and bus service from Heathrow takes approximately 90 minutes.

We spent a night at this hotel recently and booked the dinner, bed and breakfast tariff. The room was nice and clean and modern. The service from all of the staff that we met warm and welcoming. The meal on Saturday night in the restaurant was very nice but terribly slow to arrive. We complained and the waiter removed our drinks from the bill as a goodwill gesture. Breakfast was lovely. The location is fabulous for visiting the town and walkable in about 20 minutes. The hotel is also very close to the river which is an added bonus. In conclusion a lovely hotel and one that I’d happily stay at again. We ran out of time after visiting the town so dint use the leisure facilities.

I took my daughter to Oxford for a week end break. The Voco oxford spires proved to be the best place for us highly sensitive mother and daughter. The room was spacious with beautiful views . The sheets were crisp and clean. It was tastefully decorated. The swimming pool was good.We were just thirty minutes away from the city centre and Oxford colleges so we just strolled in the evening. I will definitely go back and walk by the river next time.

Lovely hotel. I requested a quiet room and was delighted with the room in the adjacent cottage, which was exceptionally quiet. Unfortunately, there was not a fridge, which I would assume there would be in a hotel of this calibre. Waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. Eldhose was exceptional! Food was great, with the exception of the Caesar salad, as it was so covered in sauce that the whole dish looked white. The Duck special was fantastic, the following evening. The reception staff were more officious than friendly. There were a few technology issues that made my stay less than relaxing. I had to keep visiting the reception to gain authorisation to add items to my room bill, despite this being done at check in. The faulty card reader kept declining my card, causing discomfort. Prior to arrival I paid for two days parking £50, but I was told I had not done this when arriving at reception to check in, and had to pay again. The final bill on checkout had parking added twice, which I had to ask to be removed from my bill. Midway through packing my car up to leave, the room card declined my entry back into the room, although the late checkout I had was still more than half an hour away. This was inconvenient as my room was not in the hotel but in the adjacent cottage and it was raining. The few days later I had to call the hotel to ask for a refund for the £50 preauthorisation charge that had been taken from my credit card.

I visited the hotel with my partner for a spa day offer, which included a 50-min massage and access to the leisure facilities. We also had dinner afterwards but didn’t stay overnight. Overall, it was a very pleasant couple’s experience. The massage was the clear highlight. **Olivia**, my therapist, made me feel completely at ease and gave me the best massage I’ve ever had — perfectly tailored to my needs. I had a lot of muscle tension from regular exercise, and she released it expertly, leaving me deeply relaxed. I’ll definitely return to benefit from her exceptional treatments. Thank you, Olivia! The leisure facilities (pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room) were less impressive — quite small, with limited privacy and space to relax. The locker room was also tight, and cleanliness could be improved (walking on wet floors isn’t pleasant, even with slippers). The restaurant was excellent. We used the 20% spa-day discount and enjoyed a lovely dinner (lamb rump, dessert, and wine). Our waitress (whose name I didn’t catch) was wonderful — she found us a quiet, comfortable table and was attentive and kind without being intrusive. Had a lovely stay at Voco Oxford Spires. Great room very clean. Our stay package included a three course evening meal. Food ok (limited choice) with some options being better than others. Location good just a 15 minute walk into the city. Hotel staff were very attentive - just wanted to single out Eldhose who was charming and unfailingly polite.
