Not stayed here so can't comment on rooms. The restaurant is very good. Tasty food wide selection on the menu. Staff always polite and helpful. Very reasonable prices as well. Well worth a visit.

Lovely staff, basis room but very clean, bathroom was spotless, the shower controls were odd and the bath filled as I showered. The restaurant food was great and not expensive.

Run down. Shabby. Generally just awful. Stayed for 2 nights. The walls between the bedrooms are rubbish. Next door decided to have a bit of passion, they should at least have had some privacy. But no, the rythmic banging, shaking of all the furniture in my room on that wall and generally full on audio... Yeah. Not really what I was hoping to have to endure. Thankfully it only lasted a couple of minutes, but then I really didn't need the post coital discussion to go with it either. Followed by the toileting audio later in the evening. The bed? Two singles bolted together for a room advertised as having a king sized bed. If I'd known they had Everest base camp style mattresses, I'd have bought an air bed to stick on it to mitigate the lumps. The shower? I spit harder. The bathroom in the main was frankly disgusting. Mildew on the ramshackle wood. If they were going for shabby chic, they missed the chic mark completely. Carpet... It was sticky with the dirt... But then it's old old polypropylene style ribbed carpet. Thankfully there wasn't a fire... The gap under the door into the room was big enough to allow total smoke ingress. As it was, the aroma of weed was the order of the day for the second night. All in all a most unpleasant two nights, reminiscent of a gangster style motel from a 1980's frat adventure.

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my recent stay at The Waterside Inn over the Creamfields weekend (2 nights). Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and fell far short of the standards I would expect, especially given the cost of approximately £450 for two nights. Firstly, the room itself was outdated, not particularly clean, and in urgent need of refurbishment. However, the most serious issue was the shower. On one morning, when attempting to use it, the shower would not turn off and began spilling boiling hot water both from the shower head and the bath tap. Not only was this dangerous, but it also meant we were unable to use the shower at all. Despite raising the issue, the problem was not resolved during the day. This left us with no option but to use another room just to be able to shower, which is completely unacceptable given the circumstances and the price we paid. I do not believe this issue was sudden, as it seemed to be a long-standing fault that should have been identified and repaired before any guest was checked into the room. This, combined with the generally poor condition of the accommodation, left me feeling very disappointed and that the stay represented very poor value for money. In light of the above, I am requesting a partial refund or suitable compensation for the inconvenience, lack of basic facilities, and the distress caused. I look forward to your prompt response. Yours sincerely, Hannah
