The Waterside Hotel is part of Greene King Inns and is well-placed for day trips to other North West gems, including Liverpool, Manchester and Chester. The hotel makes a brilliant base for exploring Warrington and the wider North West region, no matter if you’re visiting with kids in tow or on a romantic getaway. Get ready to unwind in one of its sumptuous bedrooms, all of which feature stylish furnishings, contemporary en-suite bathrooms, and the usual mod-cons (including that all-important free Wi-Fi).

The hotel has a mix of double, twin and family rooms, meaning there’s a sleeping option to suit every guest. Climb into plush beds topped with soft duvets and wake up to a hot shower where you can indulge yourself with complimentary toiletries. Find travelling stressful? Plenty of parking spaces and a location an easy walk from Warrington Bank Quay station means you can either drive or arrive by train.

Stroll down the river into Warrington’s heart to browse the exhibitions in the Warrington Museum and Art Gallery or to grab tickets for a gig at Parr Hall. Kids will love a trip to nearby Gulliver’s World Theme Park to see its enchanting miniature models, while history buffs can spend hours admiring the lavish interiors of the Elizabethan-inspired Walton Hall and Gardens.

Chic decor, riverside views and a tempting menu bursting with pub classics makes the Waterside Hotel a lovely place to grab a bite to eat. Tuck into comforting favourites or browse the specials board for a few culinary surprises at the restaurant. There’s also a brilliant bar area if you fancy a pint, plus you’ll find ample outdoor seating if you’d rather take your drink al-fresco. And to sweeten the deal? Get ready for great deals off your food bill if you’re dining as a hotel guest.

Was shown a room after reading the reviews on here. We have a function coming up so wanted to see for myself. They are in the middle of a refurb so obviously some rokms are done and some not. The one i was shown hadnt been done. It was basic yes, but CLEAN and for getting your head down for a night it was fine. Zoiey, who was the lady on reception I dealt with, was brilliant! She was SO helpful and answered all my questions as well as asking did I want to see the rooms. GREAT customer service skills.

Nice room, shower pressure could have been higher but not the worst I've had in an hotel by far. Bed very comfortable, room nice and warm, a bit stingy with 1 Tea & 1 Coffee (For 2 people)

We did not stay at the The Waterside, as this was not necessary, we needed a venue following mother funeral. Absolutely amazing from, booking to 5he attention and service we received on the day. 100%. Many thank to Hayley, Events Manager and team, and the staff on duty.. Thankyou

Regretfully we had to spend a few nights here and found it pretty grim from start to finish. The whole place is long overdue maintenance and upgrades - rippled and worn carpets, dips in the floor and in the sofa bed, bathroom mouldy, paintwork rotten, electrical sockets broken, holes in the walls, heater covered in filth. The towel rail is above the shelf by the sink so not practical for drying two large towels and there is no hook or radiator to hang them on. There were no plug sockets by the beds, the bedside tables were sticky, everything has a musty smell… My favourite part was when I asked for a spare key as I had arrived back before my partner, and I was let into the room number I gave with zero questions ‘because they saw me try to get in and that was the room number I gave’. I wasn’t asked for my ID or even to confirm the name on the booking. It was our first night and not the same staff member who checked me in so they couldn’t have known me. Complete lack of regard for safety and security. The first morning we found that the shower wouldn’t turn off. The chap on reception had to turn the water off to our room as we were leaving for the day. It remained difficult to completely turn off for the rest of our stay and was left dripping every time we used it. We weren’t told that you have to request room service so we had no fresh towels or bedding during our stay. We were out too early for breakfast but the team prepared us a box of pastries on one morning which was very much appreciated. This did not continue on the other days though. The food at the pub next door is decent enough and good portions. It can get busy so worth booking. The staff are the only redeeming factor about this place. They are lovely and clearly trying their best, but there’s not a lot they can do when the place is falling apart around them.

Run down. Shabby. Generally just awful. Stayed for 2 nights. The walls between the bedrooms are rubbish. Next door decided to have a bit of passion, they should at least have had some privacy. But no, the rythmic banging, shaking of all the furniture in my room on that wall and generally full on audio... Yeah. Not really what I was hoping to have to endure. Thankfully it only lasted a couple of minutes, but then I really didn't need the post coital discussion to go with it either. Followed by the toileting audio later in the evening. The bed? Two singles bolted together for a room advertised as having a king sized bed. If I'd known they had Everest base camp style mattresses, I'd have bought an air bed to stick on it to mitigate the lumps. The shower? I spit harder. The bathroom in the main was frankly disgusting. Mildew on the ramshackle wood. If they were going for shabby chic, they missed the chic mark completely. Carpet... It was sticky with the dirt... But then it's old old polypropylene style ribbed carpet. Thankfully there wasn't a fire... The gap under the door into the room was big enough to allow total smoke ingress. As it was, the aroma of weed was the order of the day for the second night. All in all a most unpleasant two nights, reminiscent of a gangster style motel from a 1980's frat adventure.
