I stayed at Moor Hotel & Spa for one night with three friends and it was honestly the best experience ever. The service was amazing from start to finish, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The hotel provided a happy birthday plate which was a really thoughtful touch and made the stay feel extra special. Although the food wasn’t halal, there were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available, as well as salmon which was great. The spa was unreal and incredibly relaxing, and both dinner and breakfast were 10/10. I had an amazing time overall and would definitely come back again.

I’ve been visiting Moor Hall for several years now, and always have such a lovely stay. The staff are a credit to the hotel. Everyone from the reception team, to the bar & spa staff; to the servers, to the maintenance people, and the housekeeping staff - they’re always so kind and welcoming. I stayed here by myself a few weeks back. After having such a heartbreaking year (after two bereavements) I really needed to get away. I spent two nights in one of the four poster rooms, and it was just wonderful. The room itself is beautiful, especially the view. I’m returning again just before Christmas with my sister for our annual spa break; and then again shortly after for another solo night away. Thank you so much for providing me with such comfort. Those two nights I was here was the happiest I’ve felt in a long time. Also, for anyone reading this, don’t forget to check out the fairy trail & pet cemetery. As a huge animal lover myself, this was so special to see; and even brought a lump to my throat. The amount of I’ve times I’ve been coming here, and I didn’t even know it was there.

I visited Moor Hall Spa with two friends for a school reunion and afternoon tea, and it was a truly lovely experience. My gluten-free afternoon tea was very thoughtfully catered for, which I really appreciated. Moor Hall has an ethereal, serene ambience that makes the experience feel very special. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to do the wellness walk in the small forest they have due to flooding caused by the weather, but it’s definitely somewhere I’ll be returning to in the near future.

Birthday Treat Let Down by Customer Service I recently visited Moor Hall Spa with my mum for her birthday as a special treat, booking the Winter Warmer package which included a 25-minute treatment. To start with the positives, there were many. On arrival, the receptionist gave my mum a 50% off treatment voucher for her birthday, which was a really thoughtful touch and immediately made her feel special. We were also given a tour of the spa, and the staff member who showed us around was warm, welcoming and professional. Our treatments were lovely. I had a facial and my mum had a foot and leg massage, and both therapists were knowledgeable and relaxing. After our treatments, we were given aftercare booklets and product recommendations, which felt thorough and well presented. However, the experience unfortunately went downhill when it came to the café portion of the package. When we first checked in, reception told us we could have our brownie and Baileys hot chocolate either after our treatment (around 2pm) or after the spa (around 5pm). We chose 2pm. Our treatments were at 1:30pm and lasted 25 minutes. Afterwards, we waited in the café area for around 10 minutes, but no food or drinks arrived, and no one approached us. As we didn’t want to waste our spa time sitting and waiting, we decided to go and use the facilities and assumed we could ask for the brownies afterwards. When we later returned to reception to ask about them, we were met by a different receptionist whose manner came across as confrontational and dismissive. She told us the brownies and drinks had been made at 2pm and had been “sitting there for an hour and a half.” No one had informed us they were ready, and no one came to find us, despite us being in the café area initially. We explained we were still happy to have the brownies but asked if the hot chocolates could be remade as they would now be cold. We were told we could not do that as the kitchen were already making new ones as the originals had been out too long Unfortunately, the replacement brownies we received were drastically more basic and much less presented than the original ones we had seen earlier. Compared to what was first prepared, they felt like a downgrade and lacked the same care or presentation. The hot chocolate that was given to the birthday girl was also just a regular hot chocolate not a Bailey’s hot chocolate. After being spoken to in such a blunt way, this made the situation feel quite uncomfortable and, honestly, as though we were being made to feel at fault for a simple misunderstanding. As this was a birthday surprise, it was disappointing for the day to end on that note. The spa itself, the treatments, and the initial staff were wonderful but the handling of this situation and the customer service at the end really dampened what should have been a completely relaxing and celebratory experience. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as with a more understanding approach and better communication, this could have been a perfect visit.

I don’t normally leave a review but this needed a story time and some feedbacks raised: Went here for the first time with my partner to celebrate his bday. Booked us a 1 Night Stay Superior Bedroom £249 with the Winter Warmer Package as its included Luxury Hot Chocolates and I thought it was perfect as my partner is obsessed with hot chocolates. first of all staff are lovely & friendly so service is good. Our superior bedroom had a car park view ground floor, no mini fridge (so drinks on the side are warm) and no slippers? I can’t remember reading if it had these features or not but just expected a little more in the room after paying extra, expected more than standard (I wish we saved a bit of money by just booking standard after seeing the room). The difference was crisps, cans of water, robes no slippers. The radiator in our room was also loud, it was difficult to sleep at night. Then the pool and leisure facilities.. I’ve been in bigger saunas, steam room’s and jacuzzi bath in our local leisure centres and we went on a busy Saturday night so it was very limited use and a bit cramped. Gym was okay again small but it wasn’t busy when I went, nice view of the golf course and trees. Then the restaurant, Oak Room was a lovely room I loved the decor but the food.. me and my partner ate everything as we’re not really the type of people that would complain about the food as what we usually expect, we get, but I believe we have been mislead by the menu. PLEASE NOTE if you’re ordering the £34 Beef Wellington Main DO NOT EXPECT the traditional one wrapped in pastry oh no, the menu shows the list of what’s in beef wellington but it was not what is expected. I have attached a photo if you can find it but it’s basically a deconstructed type of beef wellington that is definitely not wrapped in pastry the ingredients were just stacked on top of each other. Then finally the most disappointing of it all that ruined the bday celebrant, the LUXURY hot chocolates, before claiming this we asked the chap at the bar how luxury are these hot chocolates and he, the staff himself, said “I am not sure why they’ve advertised this Luxury because all I’m doing is press a button on a machine” our mood instantly went down, nothing was just getting better in this getaway I’ve surprised for us. I have also attached a pic of these “luxury” hot chocolates. So please bare this in mind when booking this Winter Warmer Package because they literally advertise a lovely hot chocolate with whipped cream, big marshmallows, sprinkles the lot! And all you’re getting is something that tastes and looks like the hot chocolates from our Klix Machine from my office where I work, no toppings whatsoever.. On the other hand, some positives - the breakfast was great we did enjoy the bacon and sausages they were nice. The location, the whole place It looks like an amazing location for events for weddings and whatnot, it is beautiful but still needs a little renovation in a lot of parts. It’s also clean in our room, the pool and everywhere else. We’re really just disappointed as £249 + £100+ extras from the bar and our dinner, we’ve spent so much money for 1 Night and the quality of everything that you get with it does not reflect this. I wish we’ve mentioned something when we were there but it’s difficult when all the staff have been honest and lovely the whole time. Thanks for taking your time reading this
