Best Western Thurrock Hotel

A warm welcome awaits guests at the Best Western Thurrock Hotel in Essex, a modern 3 star hotel that’s popular with visitors to the nearby towns of Thurrock, Grays, Purfleet, Tilbury and Dartford, it’s a cheap hotel compared to most of the ones that can access London and is ideally located close to the M25. It has easy access into the Docklands and it’s also handy for exploring the North Kent coast and dazzling attractions of London. The hotel has extensive public areas, an a-la-carte restaurant, lounge and bar. The patio and courtyard garden is a lovely outdoor area for evening drinks in the summer. There is also plentiful on-site car parking.

London‘s busy lifestyle is just 1hour away on the train, but there are plenty of attractions and things to do in the area, including retail therapy at Lakeside and Bluewater shopping centres (literally minutes from the hotel), the coastal town of Southend or beautiful countryside and coast of Kent & for motor racing enthusiasts there’s Brands Hatch.

RESTAURANT & BAR

Our a-la-carte restaurant, bar and lounge serve up tasty food and drink, while the patio and courtyard garden is a lovely spot for private events or evening drinks in the summer.

At Scholars Restaurant they serve quality food, freshly prepared using local British produce wherever possible. The chefs are masters of great food, whether you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast, light lunch, three-course dinner. With the likes of rump steak, roast chicken and battered cod and chips on the menu, you can satisfy your appetite with all your favourites. Younger members of the family are also well catered for, with a specific kids’ menu. They can even do a children’s afternoon tea, complete with triangle sandwiches and mini cupcakes. The current restaurant dinner times at Best Western Thurrock Hotel, are Monday to Thursday 5.30pm-9pm. Friday to Sunday CLOSED for dinner.

Scholars Bar is a stylish and comfortable Lounge Bar, and is a spacious place to meet friends, family or work colleagues. Here you can read a paper over morning coffee, grab a lunchtime snack or linger longer over a more filling meal and dessert. If you fancy something a little stronger than tea or coffee, we have a fantastic selection of prosecco and champagne by the glass or bottle, as well as wines from around the world, from a fruity Chilean merlot to an aromatic New Zealand sauvignon blanc. The Scholars Bar and Lounge is open at 12:00pm and closes at 11:00pm, weekend times may vary.
