City Gate Guest House

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this amazing place and I can't recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome with warm smiles and attentive service. Check-in was quick and easy, and I was in my room within minutes. The room itself was spotless, modern, and incredibly comfortable all in all i highly recommend this place to stay.

Lovely place to stay. People so friendly and helpful. Ideal location. We had a balcony with amazing views of the city. Only downside was sharing a bathroom but that was fine really.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Ali, the manager, was extremely helpful and welcoming. He took the time to explain which attractions were easy to reach and gave great recommendations for sightseeing. The staff was always friendly, attentive, and available to answer any questions. The hotel is located in a quiet area, yet many tourist attractions are within easy reach. Overall, a very well-run hotel with great service and a relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting London!

I honestly can’t believe there are any reviews above one star for this absolute dump. The photos of it are complete and utter lies as the place looks NOTHING like those pictures. It’s tiny, disgusting, and falling apart. I don’t know how this is even allowed I specifically booked a private bathroom, but I got put into a room with a shared bathroom used by a bunch of strangers. The locks on my room was just a flimsy little PIN LOCK that felt like it could be popped open by anyone with a paperclip. I felt completely unsafe, especially after reading reviews about staff just barging into women’s rooms at 1am. WHAT THE HELL? Then there was this insane drilling noise that went on nonstop, so loud it sounded like they were doing full-on construction right next door. I was so over this place that I had to catch the last train back to Manchester at 10pm because there was NO WAY I was staying there overnight. I would rather travel hours back home than stay in this place. This place is a total scam, a health and safety disaster, and an insult to anyone’s intelligence. Save yourself the stress, the danger, and the money and DO NOT STAY HERE. Seriously, avoid it like the plague.
