I visited the hotel as I was attending a training-related event for work. The food provided and the level of service were excellent. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, set within a beautiful medieval-style environment. Although I did not stay overnight myself, colleagues who did mentioned that the rooms were equally good. Overall, it is a lovely and well-located place to stay.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful experience at Hyatt Lunch! Tefayal made my husband’s 40th birthday extra special by surprising us with a celebration platter—such a thoughtful and memorable touch. The service was warm and attentive, and the food was delicious with great vegetarian options too. A perfect place to celebrate. We’ll definitely be back!

I am disappointed with the service. I paid £60 per night for my dog (I never paid such a high pet fee and I take my dog to hotels regularly) and there was no bed available for her. Despite having informed the hotel of the presence of our dog at the time of booking (more than 10 days before our check-in), no bed and no bowls had been prepared at our arrival. When we asked for them, we were told that they had run out of dog beds; we were given 2 cereal bowls and 2 towels instead. Better than nothing, I guess, but definitely not worth £60 per night. Moreover our key cards were blocked 30 minutes before check out time. We had to queue at reception to ask to reactivate it to get our luggage out of the room and check out. Queueing meant that we had less time to pack up and check out, so we had to rush. Rushing is something I do enough in my daily life, I don’t expect it while I stay in a 4-star hotel. The swimming pool water was cold when we used it. I pushed myself to swim anyway, but my husband gave up because of the temperature. There was little difference between the temperature of the swimming pool and the cold plunge! I tried both of them. The Jacuzzi worked well only on one side, which is the one where you could not sit. The side of the gym with the weights racks is very small. No space for more than 2 people exercising at the same time. Sauna and steam room worked well. Reception staff were friendly, although at times there were too many customers waiting with only one staff member available. It was a nice touch to have water infused with cucumber and/or lemon available in the hall.

I've spent 20 years working and spending multiple nights away in the UK staying on average 2 nights a week. I've never stayed in a Hyatt in the UK. At check-in tonight I was asked for my ID. When I asked why this was required I was told it was hotel policy (fine). When I remarked it was unusual the person behind the desk corrected me saying it "was common". The hotel can have any policy it wants but please don't suggest it's normal for a British citizen to present photo ID in a hotel in the UK.

The hotel presents well from the outside, and the main atrium is genuinely impressive. The staff are attentive, polite, and a real credit to the place. However, the parking situation is a major drawback. The hotel car park is operated by a third‑party company using ANPR cameras to monitor all vehicle movements. I was only informed of this at check‑in, when I was told I needed to use the payment machine outside and had just 20 minutes from arrival to do so. I paid for two days of parking and assumed everything was sorted. Later, when I returned to my car to collect my luggage, I discovered that the access route from the service yard to the main car park was blocked by a temporary wire fence. I decided to move my car to the front of the hotel, but a good Samaritan warned me that doing so would trigger the ANPR camera, register my car as having exited, and cancel my existing parking session. The system would then treat me as a new arrival, meaning I’d have to pay again. He explained that the car park operates as a single entry/exit point, regardless of how long you’ve already paid for. None of this was mentioned by reception, nor was it clearly signposted anywhere. After checking the machine again, I eventually found the information buried deep within a tiny “terms” section, hidden among hundreds of lines of text. It feels like a setup designed to catch people out. Had I moved my car, or simply used it to visit friends during my stay, I would almost certainly have received a penalty charge notice despite having already paid for parking. The rooms are a bit tired and the bathroom is very old in design and the water pressure is terrible. I was also woken in the middle of the by the sound of pump spinning loudly and appeared to be coming from with the ceiling somewhere.
