I’ve stayed at the Hyatt in Birmingham several times, usually when attending conferences, and it’s always been a great experience. The location is perfect – just a short walk from the ICC and the city centre – which makes it really convenient for both work and leisure. What makes this hotel stand out is the staff. Everyone is friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. Whether it’s the front desk, housekeeping, or the restaurant team, the service is always excellent. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable, with great views of the city. It’s also surprisingly quiet, which makes it easy to relax after a busy day. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Birmingham, especially if you’re going to an event or conference nearby. It’s a reliable and welcoming place to stay.

Hyatt Rengency Hotel Birmingham is a very nice and cozy hotel with great facilities. It offers halal food, and prayer mats are available upon request, which I really appreciated. The leisure facilities are lovely, with a heated swimming pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and spa. However, my stay was let down by the fact that the room did not have a smart TV as mentioned on the website, which caused a lot of wasted time considering that I planned to stay in most of the times. The hotel eventually upgraded us (to a similar room just a few floors higher) after several contact made to reception and a long wait, but I’m grateful to Kenza for her assistance. On checkout, Nandini was very kind and offered support for my next visit as a gesture for the inconvenience. There's also an issue with parking, which operates on a first come first serve basis. So if you park your car on day 1 and say you're staying for 3 days, you have to pay for the parking for 3 days ahead which is £27 for 24hr. During these days if you happen to take your car out and come back with no free parking space, you lose your money. Your slot is not reserved. It would be better if they charge us for parking when we are leaving the car park rather than making us pay in advance. Overall, a comfortable hotel with excellent amenities, but clearer information on room facilities would have made the stay much smoother. I would have come better prepared.

I stayed at the hotel Friday-sunday for my friends birthday. The hotel is nice and in a good place in the city. We had to change rooms twice. The first room was cold the AC did not work despite sending the concierge to try and fix it. The second room was the same issue again. Ended up going down to reception to complain. The manager (Victor) came back up with me he adjusted the AC and said that give it an hour and the heat would kick in. After sitting in the room for over an hour and a half it was still cold. Called reception again who said they will send an engineer, at this point we were fed up and cold so went to the Spa and left it on. On our return the room was still cold. Called reception again who stated that they would send an engineer. When the engineer arrived he looked in the ceiling and said the previous occupant of the room asked for it to be cold, so switched it off. Whether that is true or not. The management should of known this!!!! Also may I add in both rooms we could not cast to the tv, despite the manager and someone else trying. On checking out on Sunday, we spoke ro Victor the manager and relayed our disappointment. His response was as we booked through Booking.com there was nothing he could do and we needed ro complain to them. Then he would agree a refund. He asked if we was planning on coming back and he would arrange an upgrade to which we said NO THANK YOU. Why would we go back after all the issues we had!! Since speaking to booking.com. Victor the manager has lied and told booking.com we were happy with our room. Despite the lengthy conversation we had about our stay This is not the behaviour of a manager. In summary I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel. You don't pay/stay in a hotel to be cold and fobbed off and moved from room to room. The only truthful person was the engineer!!

Decent room, great views, friendly reception staff. But we were double-charged for three breakfasts, and still no refund, over a month later, despite many emails. My emails are now just being ignored - whether I contact the hotel direct or a central Hyatt address. I'm not really sure what to do next, which is why I'm leaving this review - maybe they'll stop ignoring us...?

Stayed at the hyatt 19th to 21st of September 2025 we encountered very poor service and a management team who does not care about the health and safety of its customers ! A management team that leaves broken TVs in your room..and disregards your complaints about freezing rooms and then lies to you on the phone namely Victor the duty manager stating booking.com has not contacted them to raise a complaint regarding the unsuitable temperatures in the room. Prior to leaving Victor assured me he could not adjust payments because I booked through booking.com found out this is not the case Victor thinks it is OK for customers to sleep in a freezing cold room to be then moved to another room where the heating was not rectified until after 4 pm on the day we were moved to the second room. The day of leaving we went down for a cooked breakfast there was approximately a 7 to 10minute wait! In a nutshell if you want good customer service and a warm room to sleep in and a duty manager that does not fob customers off and a night manager that does not lie when you have complained to booking.com about the service DO NOT BOOK the Hyatt hotel. They do not care about ensuring customers receive a good service they care about retaining your payments eventhough the temperatures of the room breached health and safety standards and they have also breached their agreement with booking.com!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
