I needed somewhere cheap to stay in Birmingham and managed to book at this Ibis on a deal for £40 for the night. At this price point I found it excellent value. Rooms were a bit dated but clean and warm. Tea and coffee facilities were appreciated. Only downside was that noise carried from the hallway and adjacent rooms. Service was good on both check-in and checkout. Location is very central. In the heart of the Chinese Quarter and adjacent to the Gay Village. Lots of food options nearby. 5 minutes walk to New Street Station. At this price point, I'd say it would be hard to find better in Central Birmingham

Stayed 4 nights for a work course which was held in the hotel. All staff were really friendly and helpful. All the food was delicious, from breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner. Ingrid in particular greeted us every morning by name, and was so lovely. Location perfect, so close to train station, Bullring and only 10 mins walk to Christmas market. Room a little dated, but clean, comfortable bed, and great shower - everything you need. Really enjoyed my stay and would happily return.

Car park isn't great, if you have a small car you might be alright! Looks like quite a few cars fell victim to the tight corners and pillars. Service is great, staff are extremely friendly and go above and beyond! Ingrid is absolutely amazing! She needs a pay raise! She always has a smile on her face, extremely friendly, great to talk to, runs around ensuring everyone is taken care of and looked after! She is very cheerful and an absolute delight! Thank you so much Ingrid, you are wonderful!

Great location, lovely reception service, nice atmosphere. Rooms were a good size and good facilities. The only thing that lets this hotel down is the cleaning team. Beyond loud in the corridors in the morning, loud talking, banging crashing. We had 1 night stay and were awoken at 10.30 for rokm cleaning yet check out was 12pm and we were further disturbed after being repeadly woken from 9am onwards. The cleaning team need to be mindfull and considerate of guests. We checked out early as we awoken and unable to relax.

I am extremely disheartened by the way the receptionist spoke. I am a blue badge with mobility issue, and just before booking I went through the transcripts of the hotel parking facility. It says £15 per day. I wanted to be sure so I called the hotel receptionist who was finding hard to converse in English. But that’s okay as we all are learning. I mentioned of my mobility issue and asked if I pay £15 per night in advance due to my mobility issue can I reserve a spot as without a spot I will be crippled. She totally denied and said that you will not regardless of my physical issue as we cannot pay £15 but will have to pay every time I come in and go out of the hotel depending on availability. To which, I said I rather pay the full whack rather than subsidised rates hourly so I can have a space due to my mobility. She totally denied my request and wasn’t interested in even hearing me out properly. This totally contradicts the transcripts. I urged her to speak to a senior and see if anything can be done as if I was an able bodied I didn’t mind but if I am not guaranteed a space after paying £15 when I go out and come in within 24 hours, I will be crippled not being able to park. The receptionist bluntly said that is it and I will not be guaranteed a space after paying the amount once I go out and come in and will be left at large to find an option to try to find another parking somewhere else which could be mikes away from the hotel. She said she wasn’t interested in my health conditions and how it will affect me if I don’t get a parking. I spoke to travelodge, I spoke to Clayton hotel, Novotel hotel and everyone has come back to me saying that if I did pay their full amount and due to my blue badge they will reserve a spot as a duty of care. The receptionist in this hotel quite rude and forgets that a hotel is a service industry and she should have atleast asked her superiors as she was finding it difficult to converse in English. I am just shocked that not only there was no effort to try maybe there would have been an another option but I was thrown out and the call was cut. Thank you Novotel have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year especially When I was going to book my Christmas from 25th dec to 28th dec at your hotel. But obviously this is how you wish to operate. But you do have a wonderful Christmas. I can’t stoop to that level and will only wish you well and in good health where you don’t have to beg or request or your pride and dignity be compromised when you want a bit of help to be treated respectfully and equally. A total violation of Duty of care and Equality. Thank you. God bless.
