I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. The highlight, however, was the excellent service — especially from the receptionist, Mini, who was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit. She made check-in smooth, offered great local recommendations, and always greeted guests with a warm smile. Overall, a great stay with fantastic hospitality — highly recommended!

Like an old pair of really expensive shoes this place ticks the box for ourselves. It's like going back in time and yes it's not immaculate and freshly painted and with all mod cons but it is refreshingly homely and Stately in a great area and with amazing staff. The manager reads all the requests from customers and sorted out a small issue without any hesitation. The receptionist was lovely and so friendly but in a natural not fake way which you always get with hotels. Go with a relaxed attitude and ignore some of the chips in the sink or a few marks on the wall and this place will feel like home. We will be returning soon and thank you!

Absolutely amazing stay! After a terrible experience at another hotel, coming here was a complete relief. The room was spotless, modern, and super comfortable, everything perfectly clean and well looked after. A huge thank you to Mini at reception — she was incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming. After such a rough start to my trip, she truly turned things around and made me feel at home. The whole hotel is calm, clean, and well organized — I finally managed to rest properly! I’ll definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and genuinely pleasant stay.

Great hotel in a handy location discretely tucked away, right opposite Birmingham New Street Station. The historic building itself is beautiful and inside doesn’t disappoint. Plenty of guest areas, hotel bar, generous rooms and good modern bathrooms with plenty of hot water, lovely fluffy white towels and toiletries. Highly recommend. Didn’t try the restaurant but happy to return and give it a go next time.

I stayed here for one night for a work meeting - dinner was very nice and breakfast was outstanding (albeit the coffee was truly dreadful - definitely choose tea!). The room itself was very spacious but a bit tired and the secondary glazing was woefully inadequate when it came to blocking noise from the street outside. Overall it’s clearly seen better days but I’d stay again for the friendly staff, good food and convenient location.
