My recent stay at Novotel was nothing short of five-star excellence. From the moment we arrived, the front desk team welcomed us with genuine warmth and professionalism, making my wife and me feel truly valued. Our executive room was beautifully appointed spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. Every detail, from the plush bedding to the modern amenities, exceeded our expectations. The hotel’s prime location made it easy to explore and enjoy our time together without stress. Overall, Novotel delivered an exceptional experience that made our getaway unforgettable and absolutely worth repeating.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant area was very nice. I also had dinner there once, and the burger was really good. The only aspect that I think could be improved is the room. The bed was comfortable and clean, as was the bathroom, but the lighting was quite poor. There were only two lights in the room, both fairly generic, with no dedicated reading light or a lamp specifically for desk work. A couple more power sockets would also have been very helpful. I had to juggle chargers overnight to power my phone, watch, and work laptop for the following day. These are minor issues, but precisely because they are minor, I believe they can be easily improved and would make an already nice experience even better.

I chose this hotel as it was very central. I asked the man at check-in if i could have a quieter room. I had a good sleep. However at 6.30am, i heard some drilling nearby in the hotel for a few minutes. I enjoyed the pancake machine where you press once and it gives you two pancakes at a time. TV’s in need of retuning as list is very old. When i used the shower, there was no hot water. This is a easy hotel to get to from the New St station as there is a tram service to Brindleyplace. I went in a lift dating from 1989 that i thought was working but it didn’t say it wasn’t working. So I got stuck in the lift and had to phone the hotel, who sent their manager to rescue me.

Staff were really friendly and attentive, especially the lovely lady on the bar on Saturday night. Can’t fault them. Rooms were comfortable if not a bit dated (toilet) Location - if you want any amount of sleep DO NOT STAY HERE. We couldn’t work out why but cars were honking their horn’s, seemingly for fun, relentlessly for hours all through the night, until about 4.30am. The hotel is located near a plethora of nightclubs so take that into consideration. Overall, day time experience was great but the complete lack of sleep overnight means we won’t be returning.

I liked that this hotel was located near where I wanted to go on Broad Street. There is a Sainsbury’s local and Tesco express really close by. I really liked the secure car park and felt my car was safe. It was £36 for checking in Friday and checking out Sunday. I didn’t like the stairs from the car park to the reception area. But there is an option to park outside to drop your bags off first (Something I will definitely do in future). The bed mattress and pillows were very uncomfortable. I liked the black out curtains and the street noise was minimal. I thought the restaurant food was over priced for what it was. I had the salmon which tasted dry and overcooked. The soup of the day was cold. I’ve looked at other hotels and would probably stay at Novotel again, but next time I’d look to upgrade my room from standard to something better. The staff were really friendly, professional and attentive.
