Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Bed was comfy, had a good nights sleep. Only downside was the room was quite dark (no big light) and no refill of coffee for the following morning. Shower was nice and hot, lovely bathroom with good mirrors for getting ready. Good value for money.

Big room , not much noise , clean everything worked , not sure if I turned the heating down or it shut off , the room did feel a bit chilly . Soon warmed up when I turned it back up. Mini fridge in room . Breakfast was so so , but plenty of toast , and fruit etc to top up on . I did feel it fell short of what I would expect from a 4* . That said it was fine , prices also reasonable .

Not worth the price. I had to call reception several times to provide various items that were missing (TV remote, heater). The room sometimes had a funny smell of cabbage. The hot water doesn’t work properly - I had to have a cold shower on the day I departed. Staff are friendly and helpful but this doesn’t make up for the poor quality of the hotel. The breakfast is okay. But when I arrived later one morning all of the pastries had gone and they weren’t replaced. The views from the rooms were the best thing about the hotel as all rooms are on the 23rd and 24th floors of the building. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Bar closes too early and without warning. The bar restaurant on floor 25 is spectacular and has great potential. But it closes too early. I was staying at the hotel and went up for a night cap at 10.30pm to find it closed. When I asked staff this morning what time it closes, I was told by Marco Pierre White staff "it varies, and it depends on how many people are in there" . If you are on business or as a couple or family, or especially solo, I don't think this is good enough for a hotel of this calibre and this price range. Apart from this, which was very important to me and extremely disappointing after a theatre evening, I enjoyed the stay at the hotel. Most other aspects were fine.

I’d like to leave a review about my stay from the 2nd to the 3rd of December. My partner and I visited Birmingham for a night away and decided to treat ourselves to what we thought would be a nice hotel. The room cost £177 for one night. Even understanding that Birmingham can be expensive, this was an off-peak weekday stay, so we expected something of a decent standard. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, we were disappointed. The room felt worn out and tatty, and to make things worse, there was a wet flannel left in the sink when we checked in — which was honestly quite off-putting. Later that night, after a lovely day out, things became even more frustrating. The shower wouldn’t drain properly at all. Within two minutes the base of the shower was completely full, meaning we couldn’t wash properly. We also couldn’t use the sink to brush our teeth because the water was backing up there too. The worst part was when my partner flushed the toilet — the water level in the shower actually rose with toilet water. It was genuinely disgusting and absolutely not what you’d expect from a hotel of this price. We mentioned all of this to the staff at checkout. While the receptionist was polite enough, there was no real apology or sense of concern. She offered a 30% refund, but honestly, for a £177 stay with issues this severe, it didn’t feel adequate. I’d have been annoyed if this happened in a budget hotel — let alone one charging this much for a single night. To be fair, the views from the hotel were lovely, and the setting itself had potential. But the plumbing issues and the lack of proper acknowledgement from staff completely overshadowed the positives. Even with the partial refund, I left feeling really disappointed, and I don’t feel the situation was handled in a way that reflects the price or the standards we expected.
